I'm told that I am one of the more "motivated" hunters on here, Prolly because I'm still kinda new (started w/ DR12) and not burned out yet lol

 

Yeah, should have seen my gf face when BBA Hellfighter came out and I told her we were going on a race around the city against other teams for a scavenger hunt and then I came out of the store with beer..... Needless to say I had to take her home before hitting up the other 7 stores that day

Yeah I am only off Sunday/Monday, luckily a bunch of beers have been released on Monday or I would be shit out of luck

 

Friday/Saturday here but I work 3pm - Midnight. I normally wake up early on release days, or I read about something while drinking my morning coffee if it's something I wasn't watching out for lol

 

You'd be wrong...I've had it twice in the past 6 months and it has been amazing every time. Easily one of the better Imperial Stouts ever brewed in TX and it's many years old by now.

 

it tasted like metal. did you have one from hay merchant?

 

Nah each time I've had it has been from properly cellared bottles from private collections. Tasted like chocolate, graham crackers, and a touch of vanilla.

 

The ones at Hay were not good, but I have had others that were great, so lets chalk one up to proper storage

 

I heard the Hay Merchants ones were not stored properly at all, Damned shame really

Someone was in line at Star Pizza at 9:30am according to twitter. This should be fun.

I'm also having a southern California contact searching out a quantity of Gueuze from Tilquin (he says vintages ranging from 2010-2012) + Drie Fonteinen, and other desireable beers from the area. So if there's something in that area you want that's not in my cellar, let me know and I'll ask him to hunt for it.
