indeed. I DO love novelty / new things, including beers.

(Thanks for thinking I'm young! ha, at almost 41, my looks are now hinging upon the preservative qualities of beer.)

Enjoying the day off, preparing for the long barren wasteland that is March, April and May until the next holiday, Memorial Day. Drinking Perennial Fantastic Voyage...wish it had just a touch more coconut but this is excellent

This tastes like somebody poured it through an old boot!

(sorry, I couldn't resist... the beer is tasty as usual.)

    Cheers!

Mussels with Cantillon Classic Gueuze mixed with Chardonnay to steam them open. Easy now, only used 1/2 a cup!

Oh, went to The Alchemist today and found out they canned their one millionth can this morning!
So, that's what I'm drinking right now.

:grinning: No I haven't. I usually have a couple of good beers while I cook, but I think the "best" beer I ever used in a recipe was Ten Fiddy in an Irish Stew I made once

    And yes, it was good

That does sounds great. When I visited the Publik House in Boston, MA they had a few different Clam/Mussel offerings in varying beers. Looked great, but I only had time for a couple of beers so didn't bother. but yes, I think shellfish in ales have been done for a while and are damn tasty

I was curious because awhile ago I was watching an Italian special of the upcoming Italian craft beer movement, and seen a chef cook with it. It was actually used for a sauce for dessert and very interesting the used Cantillon.

    Old Ruffian barley wine.
Started off in a snifter for my review...

Then switched up to a pint to finish off this epic brew:

Every beer I've tried from Great Divide this past weekend (Titan IPA; Yeti, Espresso Oak Yeti, and Belgian Yeti Imperial stouts; and today's Old Ruffian barleywine) has been amazing. Highly recommended.
