I'm loving 1 at Saucer Sugarland. Letting 2 breathe a bit.

They produced a lot more than bb1, so they must be spreading it out to a lot more places this time.

A lot more accounts this time around. BB1 showed them they can sell all that they can get.

Ehh, I know I bitch about it alot, but there is really no "crafty" places on the northside that. Especially ones that will togo it.

We need to convince to powers that be to distribute a couple off premise cases for us out of towners. Literally no place in Fort Worth that could actually took advantage of the take home feature of their license. While I was totally fine with the number of cases we recieved I could argue (really me argue??) that it would be better to release a few cases to our primo stores (think Halls and Lonestar...people who won't **** us nor allow pillaging). I'm happy paying for one at whatever they charge but I'd love a reasonable chance to store one.

That said I suspect as this program gets going it'll get bigger and this restriction will fade. I think SABC is smart enough to use this program to expand their reach in the upper chamber of Craft Beer. I would love to have the expanded opportunity with future releases to send out a bottle or two to good BA's if only to provide a wider non provincial review. If BB#1 is where SABC is headed then really it's not long before the BA Community at large starts hounding them.

Anybody ever ask is BB bombers would ever be considered?

I'm not anticipating this one nearly as much as I did the first one. I really enjoyed the 1st one, but this one doesn't sound too appealing to me from the description. I may wind up tracking one down if I see some good reviews for it. I'm just not too high on funk.

Just recently started getting into real craft beer, found Beer Advocate, and have become a big St. Arnold's and Abita fan. Was afraid I wouldn't be able to find Bishop's Barrel 1 since it was released last year but was lucky to try #1 & #2 at the Flying Saucer downtown with the wife.

BB1 had a really nice sweet bourbon smell and had a hint of the bourbon taste while drinking. It really lived up to the expectations from reviews; I wish this was something available every day.

BB2 to me tasted very much like a wine/cider. It smelled fruity and had a tart taste (I like tart things, however the tart in this beer was light). I came in thinking I wouldn't like #2 as much, however I enjoyed both equally in their own way. I would try #2 if you get the chance, it surprised me.

There isn't really any Funk in it - I was the same way. I just had one at Stag's Head for Lunch and it's pretty much Christmas Ale mixed w/ Dry White Wine not bitter/sour/funky just Dry Wine. The Cherry flavor doesn't even come out till you let it warm up a bit and I didn't taste any wood in this one. It's a lot tamer then it sounds on paper.

It's really not a bad beer at all but it's all kinds of not worth the hype, you don't have to slap your Mom, punt kick a baby or shoot a puppy to get it but, The shit isn't bad at all.

Also if you wanna get ripped off, Leon's Lounge is selling both BB1 and BB2 for $14.75 a bottle.

Good to hear, I might pick one up after all. I do like the Christmas ale pretty well for a winter brew, it would be interesting to try with the barrel aging.

There isn't any "Barrel" flavor at ALL. Just Christmas Ale and dry white wine mostly - The warmer it gets, the more cherry flavor there is.

I really enjoyed it at Stags Head. I love how subtle it is, there is not a lot of "wood" flavor. So people wanting in your face oak and wood barrel flavors are not going to get it (and don't really no Chardonnay that well). Though the wine barrels impart lots of subtle flavors. I loved the cherry tartness, and other fruity flavors imparted. Then tannin like mouthfeel is great. Topped it off with a cask Christmas Ale. One of the best cask beers we can get in Texas.

    Wow, it's overhyped... Who'd a thunk.

Might go over to Whip In tonight and try one myself after all the hipsters clear out.

Yep, they always have a cask from Saint Arnold. Lately they seem to be getting better SA casks than Gingerman, which use to never be the case.
