Wow, it held up good for the long trip. Hope you have a little time when you decide to open it - my packing methods have been described as "obsessive", as you'll see. Enjoy!!

Double boxed, bagged, waxed, bubble wraps, peanuts and newspaper. You are way beyond obsessive.
I unpacked 3 bottles. I will get to the rest of them in a little bit. (Damn clients keep coming to the office.)
I have never even heard of the breweries so I am incredibly excited.
I will post a picture when I get everything unpacked.

You forgot to mention the shrink wrap. :astonished: I like to make sure everything gets there safe.

I am absolutely floored. What an incredible selection of beers and a cool pint glass to drink them out of.
I have never tried any of these. In fact I have never heard of some of these.
I can't wait to start tearing into some of these beers tonight.
    Thank you so much kmello69

Cool! Glad you're happy. I tried to pick a good mix of local TX stuff that I really like and some other things not distributed in your area. There was a second piece of glassware I wanted to put in, but I couldnt get it to fit! Anyway, glad you're happy - now you just need to get it all home.

That's a hell of a selection. Black metal and funk metal... two beers I need to try when I hit Austin this year for work.

    Nicely done Kmello69.

Hey all, sorry I was away from this thread. I chose the "watch thread" option, but it looks like after a week I stopped getting the news when folks replied.

Anyway, seems like boxes are landing left and right. I was happy to see that my brews landed for kmello in fine order. Bummed that you've had two of the three, but so it goes. I am very glad that you haven't had the Long Trail Imperial Stout. It's soooooo underrated. Enjoy it!

Gotta give a lot of love to dachshunddude. His box arrived today. Inside were two cans of Jai Alai, two cans of Hotter than Helles Bock and a 750ml of Moat Water. I am new to all of these beers! As excited as I am about Jai Alai and as curious as I am to try the Moat Water I am very excited about the Helles Bock, one of my favorite styles.

Keep the updates coming everyone! I am so happy to have been part of this great beer advocacy!

Don't feel bummed at all. I've had 2 of them, but I really like both of them, so I'm more than happy to have them again! And I rarely have access to Russian River unless I'm traveling, so I'm always super excited to get any of those. Friends of mine who still live in Burlington (where I used to live) talk about Long Trail all the time, so I'm super excited to try that one too.

    Thanks again for everything!

Long Trail, while a solid 3 hours from me, feels like my local brewery. They helped get me into craft and my wife and I have a lot of awesome memories of visiting their brewery. I love being able to share their stuff with others.

Oh and don't look now, but they just did a DIPA in their "brown bag series" (an experimental series to find new brews to distribute, Double Bag was born of this). It's really good. It's not Heady Topper, but damn is it tasty.

    Viva Long Trail!

    Woa, re-waxed? Hardcore, bro.

Also, my package arrived today! Will post later with pictures. Thanks Bryan!

EDIT: That box looks crazy similar to mine. Good thing I couldn't fit more or else it would have looked creepily similar..

But seriously! A Ost, Sisyphus (that vintage!), and a Black Metal could have easily made it in there if there was room. Crazy!

You need bigger boxes. I've learned a little secret about cheap boxes. I go to Specs and get an empty liquor box with the cardboard dividers in it for free, fill that, then pack it into a larger box (either 14x14 or 16x16) that I get from WalMart for like $0.98. Bascially costs me $1 for 2 boxes, and works like a charm!

As for the wax, I've started double-waxing all my trade bottles. On my first trade, I had a bottle of JK Thrash Metal literally shoot its cap off inside the box, resulting in a call from the shipping company and a whole lot of hassle. Since then I've taken to waxing bottles, and no issues. Its easy and cheap, so why not?
