I'm going to be heading out west to go skiing in park city in a few weeks. Can anyone make some recommendations for any brews for me to bring home that I typically don't have access to back home in NJ? I know Utah has some tough liquor laws and that you need to go to state stores to not get near-beer. but figure I should be able to at least find some deschutes.... Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

    Squatters Fifth Element Wild Saison
    Squatters 529 Oud Bruin
    Wasatch Switch
    Wasatch Ghostrider White IPA
Shades of Pale Four Play Porter
    RedRock Elephino DIPA
    RedRock Bobcat Brown Ale

Didn't put any Uinta beers on here because I understand they're available in NJ. Correct?

    Then I'd recommend
    Labyrinth Black Ale
    Sea Legs Baltic Porter
    Hop Notch IPA
    Cockeyed Cooper Bourbon Barleywine.

    That's false--unless you're calling 4% ABV "Near Beer"

Haha yes I am...I drink a lot high gravity stuff. I found it to be really funny when I saw that BL platinum had a controlled alcohol content considering the whole point of bl platinum is that it is a 6% abv light beer

You may also want to check out Uinta's Birthday Suit. This year it is a sour brown ale, and it should be out next week!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Is the big bad baptist a seasonal that is nearing its end? I head out in about a week and a half. Will definitely look for birthday suit. Mikey was that second list of recommendations all UNITA?

Big Bad Baptist is seasonal and came out early winter ('12). At this point, here in Fort Collin, CO there is only one remaining store with it on the shelves (which I only know because I had been on the lookout for it and finally found another bottle this past week). Not sure what the Utah climate for it might be (probably helps that Epic is from UT), but I'd keep a lookout for it and it might not found on stop #1.

Here in Utah, I think it is only at the brewery & it does tend to hang out in the cold case for a bit. The last batch was bottled about a month ago so it might still be out.
And if I may answer that other question, yes, those other offerings are Uinta & should be available at the brewery and at the state liquor stores.

Also, FYI I just found out that the new Birthday Suit officially releases tomorrow at the brewery, so that will definitely be out when you are in town!

I'll just add that Labyrinth is amazing. Buy all you can wherever it pops up.

Perhaps b/c the label reads 'black ale' instead of 'stout'.

Is Squatters Outer Darkness available there? I just found some in Texas and grabbed a couple bottles to bring back to CO. Got to try this one once thanks to The Dood, and I remember it being really, really good.

The labyrinth was my favorite beer I had when I was out there and I brought back a few bottles too. Thanks for the awesome suggestion! Great great beer. I will need more of it.
