Old Rasputin XIV Anniversary in TX

    So who found bottles of this in TX... and where? I was just told from a local retailer's "beer guy", that it came and went in a flash. I was shocked(as well as pissed off a little) because I was also told, by a BEK rep, that he doubted it would come to TX but he would message me "IF", and when it became available in my area. Just wondering how many TX BA's were able to find/land a bottle, and maybe gauge just how limited they were in our state.

    This beer was on top of my "most sought after beers" list, and put off trading for it hoping I could score one off the shelf.

    *Also, any info of a secret stash still being out there(in the DFW area) would be appreciated.

    Got one at Spec's on Smith Street in Houston on 2/17. I don't think it ever made it to the shelves. I haven't cracked it yet and may not for a while, but it better be good at $20+ for 500 ml.

    I feel the same way. Though I did not talk to a Ben E Keith rep, I could never get a strait answer out of any of the DFW beer stores.... if anyone, I'm sure halls got some.
    Based on the way the halls guys talked about "whats in the back of the cooler" He wont sell it to you unless he sees you come in often.

    If it's ANYTHING like prior vintages... it'll be well worth what you paid, I promise you. Had one(aged a year) early last year and it was amazing. Consider yourself lucky for scoring one.

    Picked up 4 bottles at Whole Foods Montrose for $20 each. Really quiet release due to BA being down.

    It's my understanding that Austin only saw 120 bottles so it was a little hard to come by if you didn't know about the release. Once those bottles were sifted through the various employees at the liquor stores and bottle shops that received a shipment I bet we had closer to a 100 available. I found one at Central Market on Lamar and a bottle at Specs Arbor Walk. Had to ask for it both times and never saw any on a shelf anywhere. I'm sure they are long gone around here by now...

    I got lucky and happened to be at Spec's mid-town and there were 4 on the shelf. Gone in a flash.

    We got 1 case in Corpus Christi. At the price I was suprised it sold out in 2 days.

    I came across 2 bottles in trades and have not tried it yet. This release was under my radar so I am happy I was already well off with Old Raspy XIV.

    From what I have heard DFW received about 10 cases and most went to on-premise places like the Flying Saucer, Meddlesome Moth, etc. I was able to get one from Specs but that was weeks ago.

    San Antonio got 4 cases. Gabriel's had to sit on it for a week or so before selling it due to a database-related technicality, but once it got the green light it was gone in less than a day.

    40 cases? One of the beer guys at Specs told me we only saw 10...Who told you 40?

    I got the last bottle at Central Market @ Lamar and another at WF-Gateway. Heard nothing about the release...just happened to have a beer with someone in the know that day.

    I got two bottles at Central Market in Plano and the shelf was clear before I left the store. It was the Saturday before Valentines.
