Meh. Tastes like a normal porter with a slight hint of bourbon. Nothing special.

Enjoying a BCBS this morning. A great way to start the day. So delicious. Cheers!

Side by side. Very similar I must say other than slight color difference. Wondering if I can enter in the Saison category though in the AHA competition. Anybody know? Is HF Anna even "to style"??

I'm not a big hefeweizen guy, but when I want one, my go-to beer is the Weihenstephaner.
BUT I must try others every now and again, to keep my beer palate sharp!

So: Schneider Weisse Tap 7 Unser Original

A classic hefeweizen for sure, but it must suck being compared to the Weihenstephaner (by guys like me) - you just don't stand a chance. I'm sure other fans of the style may disagree, so I mean no disrespect to individual taste preferences, but the Weihenstephaner remains my first choice in a hefeweizen.
Didn't stop me from enjoying this though...

One of my favorite restaurants in the Austin area (Torchys) just started carrying Oskar Blues. Ended up with an Old Chub and a chicken fried steak taco. Also scored a free Oskar Blues koozie and Old Chub sticker.

Just enjoyed a Tap 7 myself and found myself wondering about Tap 7 vs. Weihenstephaner's Helles. I don't know...I might go with the Schneider...

Weihenstephaner can be slightly sweet, especially noticeable after a few. Schneider not so much.
On the other hand there is a lot of old Schneider on the shelves and that doesn't help its rating.

Don't tell me Weihenstephaner is hard to find in the US...I might not move back!

Doing a little cellar cleaning. This is a Hair of the Dog - De Proef collaboration beer I picked up last year. Very nice. Kind of like a Flemish Red with a few of the same flavors as a Belgian Tripel.
