I had 8, drank 1, cellaring 1, traded 6. Great beer but I like coffee, rare, n vanilla better. Not a huge cherry fan unless its in sours. But still a great bourbon county variant that everyone should try imo.

Weird that everyone in this thread who got more than two bottles is from the east coast.

I managed three bottles by accident and through diligent searching. The first I happened to be going in late to work on the day Algonquin Binnys got it and I showed up right after it arrived. The other two I got because, crazily, people who had reserved them a couple other places didn't pick them up.

I landed 5. Shared one, gave one to a friend who was deployed when it released, traded one. I still have two...one for my cellar, one for trade/sharing/gift...idk yet

Hate to say it but I got a lot of these, most are all gone by now. Either drunk or traded. Helps that I have a secret spot that's so out of the way people who do know about it rarely make the trip. Ain't tellin. Last time I did I left almost a case if king Henry there and it got wiped out in the blink of an eye.

Not a hoarder just knew this was the last good trade ammo I'd get my hands on for a while.

Got 1 at my go-to store because I was on the "list." About 10 days later I walked in to a different store and asked about it and they said it was coming in the next day. They called me the next day and said I could have 2 of each BCBS Coffee and Cherry. I elected to only buy 1 of each so someone else in town would get there hands on it, so I ended up w/ 2 cherry rye total. I traded 1 for a BA Speedway, going to open the other one soon.

Neither one of the BCBS coffee or cherry that I bought ever sat on a "shelf" until they got into my cellar. I guess that's what makes it a shelf beer...

Maybe they're more honest than Midwest traders about how many they have? Just throwing out possibilities.

Or maybe a lot of midwest people were like me and got shut out of Cherry Rye even though they were in Chicago the weekend it was released. But assuming things about people is cool too.

I traded Cantillon (Mamouche) to someone on the east coast for a cherry rye...Go chicago

edit: also, I sent both of the Cherry rye bottles I was able to buy in person to my 2 favorite traders one of which is in Cali (SD) so I appreciate the long term trader approach. Bourbon County flavored bottle of the year is now (for me) a drink on-premise deal for the few weeks it's available. I've heard as many as half of the bottles end up in on-premise locations and those stick around a little longer than in stores.

I think we established from the other thread that you're not who I am talking about.

I live in Cali and was able to trade for two bottles. Oddly enough one of them went to a great trader in IL as he couldn't find any.

He's just talking to talk. FWIW, in my short trading history I haven't experienced any ridiculous ransom holding from Midwest BA's. I live in California and traded a 2011 Eclipse for a Cherry Rye with no problem.

The great Midwest conspiracy continues. That wasn't what I was implying, but I understand how some people could think I was. With no inside information I believe that it's more likely GI shipped more out of state to other markets, or that East Coasters just weren't as interested. Also, I believe this didn't hit NYC until a couple months after Chicago, so maybe the buzz had died down a bit? Whatever, it's all speculation until someone creates another chart...

FWIW, in my experience of (s)talking to several different stores in the 50 or so mile radius that I travel between work and home, when this came out BCBCS was much more plentiful, while some places got a few bottles, or at most one case, of Cherry. Luck was with me this time, but I don't expect that kind of timing and coincidence to happen all the time, and it rarely does.

I know of a BA who got an entire case, from one retailer, in Chicago. He has an in there, and got the same for Bramble and BCBCS.

I landed 2 in Michigan fairly easy, and I traded for one early on when it was "limited"
