I had a really good trade experience with him recently. I'm sorry that something has happened that is making you question him. Things like that suck for all involved. All I can offer is my experience. We worked on a trade for a week and he sent amazing extras. He was super nice and stayed in contact with me daily. I'm more apt to think something has happened. I hope not. I hope this is just a misunderstanding and it will be cleared up soon.

Let's say that something has happened and he isn't willfully being a bad trader (health reasons, got his ass thrown in jail, etc..). Maybe it would be a good idea in future trades for everyone to ask for non trade references on BA that know you (preferably local) that would be able to provide info of what's going on with you. Plus if someone really was trying to rip someone off then it would earn them a bad rep with the local beer scene. I know I would rag on their ass constantly at beer tastings, festivals, etc..

While not related to trading I had something like this come up. I did a big group hop buy for a bunch of people where we bought like 30lbs of hops. Well one of the guys wouldn't respond to me for weeks after I got the hops. I called around and found out he had been involved in a really serious car accident and would be in the hospital for a while. Luckily he recovered and we eventually ironed out our hop deal.

But the hops are okay, right?

Yes, hops are treated with the utmost care in my home. Vacuum sealed and kept in the freezer. That way they don't end up stale and cheesey like homebrew shop hops.

Commas are your friend; don't want to make it sound like the "luckily" part is that you ironed out your hop deal :stuck_out_tongue:

Just thought I should post this here.

I recently had a trade with randomdanger and everything went quite smooth with the exception of me sending him an extra box destined to somebody else (by mistake). He did take some time to forward the box to the recipient, but he went ahead and repackaged the box for me even after it was damaged in transit. The only reason he was late sending it was because he had some personal things going on, so I can vouch for him that he's a good trader and is not looking to cheat people out of beer. Last I spoke with him was yesterday to thank him for doing me the favor of forwarding that box for me (something he did not even have to do because it was my fault to send that box to him in the first place).

Did you happen to ask him about the BIF he flaked out on?

Not really, I'm going to text him as soon as I charge up my phone and let him know that there is a thread about him so that he could respond to it/you. Sorry to hear about that, just wanted to let everybody know that I actually did talk to him recently. I'll keep you guys posted on what he says.

The original trade was started around December, in which I sent him a RareR and he sent me a CBS. Straight 1:1 no extras. Trade was done as soon as we initiated it around that time, but I also sent him another box that was destined to somebody else around that time. That box was just sent to the original recipient on Saturday by randomdanger. He had told me had been busy and that's why he hadn't been able to ship it late December/all of January/and most of February.
