I thought it was mentioned somewhere that Rosso has been bottled and the release is imminent? Does anyone have any more details on this or is it just pure speculation at this point? Will the release be silent or will they have a "release day" like they used to?

If its anything like their last releases, Barrel Select Black...Hops n Roses...Barrel Select Gold, it will be a silent release. Since moving to Elmsford there have been no big "release days". The party scene at Pleasantville is a thing of the past.

For which I say good even if I don't get any. The last release for Castleton was a horrible shitshow and kind of awful all the way around. The idea of deli tickets was good until people started taking multiples for their friends that showed up ten hours later.

Aww, I can't edit that post anymore. So I'll just add here: Before anyone calls me out on it, I was given numbers by other people. But I did get there at like 4:30am or something ridiculous so it's not like I didn't try. And even with getting bottles that way, I think it's stupid. If they do decide to do these again, I hope they have a couple volunteers watch the numbers going out to guarantee people only take 1.

I thought the way they did it in the past was just fine

Agreed! Even the last Rosso release was a shitshow, just not as bad as the Castleton one. Pretty much everyone I talked to had grabbed multiple tickets for friends, which was a total breakdown of the system. I was nearly shut out despite getting there at 5:30 AM, but was saved by a guy who had taken more tickets than he could use and felt bad that I was going to get shut out. On one hand, that was awesome that he gave me an extra ticket despite not knowing me, on the other hand, if people like him hadn't taken a bunch of tickets in the first place, we never would've had this problem.

Why rehash this all over again???

CL has released at least 4 new beers from the new brewery and all have been unannounced silent releases. I'm pretty sure that they will continue that trend.

I was told that now with the expansion of more distributors being added as of a month or so ago, that these bottles and cuvée will work their way around the state and such.

That was my favorite of the Imperial SFTOs. Hopefully it lasts like Hops n Roses did and I can grab some in a week or so.

If anyone from the city is heading up there tomorrow to pick up some smoke from the oak, or can grab an extra bottle or two shoot me a BM!

Just got the CLBC newsletter today. Within it, this little tidbit about bottles:

Other new beers that are on the horizon:
    - Smoke from the Oak series is back with it's Rum Barreled Imperial Smoked Porter on the shelves in the tasting room as we speak.
    - A fresh batch of Xtra Gold has been re-introduced to the tasting room
which means a fresh batch of Golden Delicious soon to come.
    - Barrel Select Raspberry Sour Ale might have a release date within the next month or two...

    Two things to note...

    1. Barrel Select Raspberry Sour Ale!!! I'm guessing this is different from Barrel Select Raspberry just as BS Cherry Sour Ale was different from Barrel Select Cherry. Either way, looking forward to this one!!!

    2. It's interesting that the newsletter notes BS Raspberry Sour and Rum Barrel SFTO but nothing about Rosso... which leads me to believe (correctly or incorrectly), that in fact, the release of Rosso is NOT imminent.

Agreed, especially since they said the Raspberry might have a release within a month or two. If Rosso was planned, you'd think they'd mention it. Could just be being coy though.

    Another update:

Just went to the brewery and picked up some SFTO Rum. I asked about BS Sour Raspberry and Rosso. I was told by the person behind the bar that BS Raspberry, per the newsletter would be in the next month or so. He also stated that Rosso and Cuvee de Castleton were bottled but that they need to bottle condition so its likely they're 2-3 months away.

I believe every word of what I was told. That being said, these are wild ales and the beers usually dictate when they're ready so I'd say that the 2-3 months is a conservative, guestimate.
