If you won a LIF and the beer is not sent within 4 months, is a bad trader submission warranted?

No, you didn't lose anything. But he needs to go on the douche bag list.

Edit: And by douche bag list, I mean "Not to be trusted list"

    ??? This is tough.

I won one for a growler of Masala Mama years ago... Never received the growler because the guy said he got tied up with other stuff. I was disappointed, but I never felt like calling him out.

I guess I would say no... But with an exception "if" it was a chain type LIF, where you have to receive your package and then do another LIF.

That is an iffy one, though I think the name should be known. Running an LIF can make you look generous so it can help your rep as everyone assumes you are a good BA. If you don't send that shouldn't count so out him at least.

Just to be clear, I haven't won a LIF. I have a friend who won one and hasn't received anything in 4 months after winning the LIF. There have been numerous excuses given by the BA for why the package hasn't shipped to date.

same thing happened to me, person was given many many warnings and then put on the "list". If you win or offer a LIF you should have to live by the same rules of a trade in my opinion. Those rules being "shipping in a reasonable amount of time". Good luck

This is the reason for the thread. I don't know the etiquette for something like this. I'm sure my friend will have no problem providing a name if the prevailing opinion is they should be outed.

No. Just complain about it, never reveal his name, and then post threads asking what a beer's value is.

Not doing so will make me second guess the URL in my address bar.

If he flaked on an LIF he may flake on a trade, generosity is usually rewarded on here. Look at a guy like cfh64, he is super generous and no matter who tries to send him boxes he sends back. I would like to know who as I wouldn't want to trade with him.

You're suggesting that we blackball someone from trading who accepted free beer you were giving away and is choosing to not be generous or has been too busy to put something together. I disagree with that.

I get that you're upset that your generous gesture wasn't passed forward, but there's no reason to assume that he/she will bail on sending their part of a trade because he/she isn't also giving away free beer based upon your prescribed deadline.

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just asking a question.

You have to awfully busy for 4 months to not find time to put together a box.

I wouln't add them to the list but name's got to come out. I wouldn't trade with someone who can't even follow through a LIF.

Tip* if you can't handle to ship, don't offer free beer to get your name out there.

That's the problem I have with it. While his LIf was up, he got some attention, was seen (like oh look, he's generous) but then he's a piece of shit who can't follow through.
Bad trader? No nothing was traded.

I read it as someone ran an LIF on their own and hasn't shipped after 4 months.

Well to give pk18 some credit, I did happen to "win" a LIf back in very early December sponsored by Dennoman. To date the shipment has not happened but I had no idea what the etiquette on what something like that was so pk18 felt like posting the question. Anyway, the name is out there but I'm still not sure that I have much right to call someone out for not sending me something for free so please feel free to debate what is right and wrong.

He is in Belgium so the package could take a while, but it needs to ship. Strange I wouldnt have thought of him as one to flake out based on how he interacts on here. But if he did he did.

I won a beer bet over a year ago and still no beer. The BA in question hasn't been on here in over a year either, I just chalk it up to someone who got in over their head.
