Driftwood Singularity. It's a bourbon barrel ages RIS and I think if it were distributed to the US, it would be on the shelves for a day or two. This years batch was released in January and I still see it all over the place.

Came here to say this. I'd put it up against any Belgian Saison.

Hahaha! I wish! While I do have a pretty good 'stache, it is nowhere near as epic as that guy's!

Completely agree. And since I can pretty easily a buy a bottle of the Deep Woods series from my bottle shop, I think they're better than most whales. Barleywine in the hand trumps a whale I probably will never get to taste.

not sure how under the radar they are, but I imagine those outside of Chicagoland have a difficult time acquiring Pipeworks brews. I've really enjoyed Galaxy Unicorn, Blood of the Unicorn and Jones Dog. I also really like Wild Onion's Hopslayer.

In terms of easily found but not overly hyped beers that are fantastic, I go with Oskar Blues' Deviant Dale IPA.

I just had a Hyper Dog milk stout from Piperworks Sunday. It wasn't the best milk stout I've ever had, but it was better than a majority of them out there. They make really solid, yet still interesting beers. There's one that they brew with spices used to cure meat. I haven't worked up the nerve to try that one yet.

I really like Smuttynose as well. I think that they are an all around solid brewery. Old Brown Dog is a great go-to food beer for me.

I don't hear ANY talk about Evolution Lot 6 DIPA, and I have no clue why. It has a level of craftsmanship and depth that many DIPAs (even hyped ones) lack.

How about Duvel? I know it's well known and highly rated but it's not relentlessly hyped and I don't hear about it too often here but it's just a wonderful beer. Also, Fegley's Hopsolutely
