    Hey Everyone,

I will but up in Minneapolis Sunday the 10th with my girlfriend. I am from Indiana and this will be my first time north of Chicago. I have been told to stop at Town Hall Brewery. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what their best taps are currently? Also, I know I will be in Gopher territory but hopefully there is some Big Ten love up at Town Hall! I am a big Indiana Hoosier Fan and they have a big game against Michigan around the time I will be at the pub, what are the chances of that being on T.V.?

After I have been properly lubed-up next stop is the liquor store, where I am sure to drop too much money! Any suggestions on the best beer stores? I have heard Zipps. I will most likely only be allowed to stop at one so I want to make it count!

    Cheers,

    Steven

I think you have a good plan for hitting Town Hall. The game should be on as Gophers play Saturday.

You are out of luck on hitting a liqour store though, as no sales on Sunday in MN. If you are driving you could hit Casanova's in Hudson, WI on the way home.

Tourists should just plan better and purchase their beer & liquor needs on Saturday. I mean how hard is it to change your travel plans to accommodate our Blue Laws.

I would venture to Republic across the street as well. Halftime perhaps? They always have an outstanding tap list! If you have cab fair or a sober cab, Stub & Herbs always has tons of good stuff on tap too.

Mango Mama is on tap right now at Town Hall & I believe Buffalo Bock as well!

    Beer Stores:
The Four Firkins - St. Louis Park
    Liquor Barrel - Golden Valley
    South Lyndale Liquors - MPLS
The Ale Jail - St. Paul.

    These are all great stores.

For some reason I can't start a convo with you. If you have some stuff you would like from a liquor store I will pick it up for you. BM me

To be fair if you break a window and are quick enough they are fine. The customer service may be a bit lacking at that point, and you need to be in and out quick. But the selection is still top knotch

I had some acquaintances in High School that went this route. Dumb asses got away with it, but decided they needed to go back and get more... a third time... Third time wasn't a charm.

I should have known considering here in Indiana we can't purchase on Sunday. I am only driving though and stopping for the game and a few brews! Luckily I will be driving back though a few days later :-).

If you find yourself on I35 near Burnsville you should also check out Blue Max Liquors.

If you make it to South Lyndale Liquors you are rather close to France 44. Worth a stop as well.

Stop and talk to the guys at the four firkins in saint louis park. If you can try and tour Surly as well. You'll love town hall. They have great food and great beer as well

Thought I would bump this thread from a year and a half ago to see if anyone had any updated recommendations. We'll be in Minneapolis for a wedding this weekend (arriving early Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon). We'll have a few hours on Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday morning/early afternoon and Sunday morning. I plan on trying to make it to Surly on Friday, Town Hall on Saturday, and somewhere else for brunch Sunday. We're staying in Eden Prairie and the wedding is in Waconia if anyone can recommend any bottle shops (I'm glad I read this thread to see no alcohol sales on Sundays!)

Being in Eden Prairie, I'd for sure make a stop at Steel Toe Brewery in Saint Louis Park, although like most taprooms in MN they don't serve food themselves, but normally have food trucks. My favorite taproom is Dangerous Man (current taplist - http://dangerousmanbrewing.com/) and then you can hit up Indeed http://www.indeedbrewing.com/ which blocks away. I'd personally go to Town Hall on Sunday if you really want to hit up a brewery for brunch since they are really the only one who offers a decent one (http://www.townhalltap.com/menu/)
The best shop that I personally know about near EP is France44. I'd also recommend Zipps and Stinson Wine, Beer and Spirits if you have a little time to run around. Hopefully that helps some.

And if you're going to Indeed, you should make the short jaunt across the railroad tracks to Sociable Ciderwerks

Odd how I've seen people say this multiple times and no one says to stop in at 612 which is between the two. I mean, after going there once I probably don't see the need to go back to 612 either...
