The OP seems to be referring to size as in distributing a lot of beer to a lot of states, as the breweries he listed have large distro footprints. Russian River, Hill Farmstead, and the various wale makers being listed do not fit that description at all.
Some of mine would be Deschutes, Rogue, and Sixpoint.

    Terrapin
Cigar City (but I think I may take a trip this summer to visit family in FL)
    Great Divide
    Surly
    Hoppin' Frog

Of all if them, Cigar City is the one I 'm most excited to try

You're from California and you've never had Green Flash IPA? Us easterners thought it was more common than water out there

I have only caught up with a fraction of New England, NY, and PA... My have not tried list is way longer than my tried list.

Of things I have seen available here, Firestone Walker, Avery, Lost Abbey probably top the list. I have tried a few each of some other "biggies" like Founders, GI, Lagunitas, SN, Omegang, Victory.

I got pretty distracted by DFH. Probably predominant along with Boston Beer Co.

They just cleared out a bunch of Terrapin at TW in my area (Tampa Bay)... I never had any either and was lucky enough to score a case each of Wake-n-Bake and MooHoo a few days ago. :sunglasses: Happy to report that both are delicious. :grinning:

Almost 1200 reviews on here, tons of trades and tastings attended, yet I've still never tried a single beer from:
    Kern River
    Cascade
    Lawson's
    PEG's
    Live Oak

Given that you meant "oft-mentioned on BA," then Peg's Cantina, Hill Farmstead, Lawsons, Seventh Sun, Pipeworks, Toppling Golaith, Block 15, and Tired Hands.

Kuhnhenn makes big beers, but most would be surprised at how they are not so big.

You guys aren't trying hard enough. I've ticked most of the brewers in this thread and I'm stuck on the other side of the Atlantic.

Needless to say not done Hill Farmstead (yet).
Fantôme is a big gap that I hope to close this week.

Wow, I am actually surprised seeing a lot of these posts.

    1. Find a tasting group in your area and join it.
    2. Look here, you don't need to have whales to get a lot of these beers.

You can lead a BA to beer, but you can't make him drink.
