    Despite living in VT and being a big DIPA fan this is my first Heady in over a year. Not sure if he's been messing with the recipe or if my tastes have just changed, but I like it considerable more than the last time I had it.

    This one was a pre-AB holdout, I've actually been holding onto a couple bottles because this specific batch ended up being recalled by GI subsequently. I guess I just couldn't bring myself to dump it so I decided to give it a little age and see what happened. I did a side by side in 2011 and recalled the beer was less carbonated and slightly more tart than the regular. Now, the carbonation is a lot higher along with sediment and the tartness feels even more pronounced. I need to find a recent vintage and do another side by side with my last remaining bottle.
