Oddly enough I am having the same beer. Been saving this one in the DBF for a month or so waiting for a nice spring like day to enjoy it. Today is good enough, sunny, with temps in the low 50's. Grass is turning green. Condolences to the folks in the mid-west.

A decent and drinkable DIPA for sure. And the "double-wide" bottle 27.5 ounces is a bonus.

Moving right along - how is it 8:30 already?

Anyway, my last new beer for the day:
    Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye

Much better than I anticipated - great malt and hop blends - it was like an amber ale and an IPA with the addition of rye - a very well-balanced and drinkable beer.

    Cheers!

    New Dogfish Head Sunday!

I bought this a few weeks ago, maybe even a month, waiting for the right night that I craved such a beer. It was a long week here in Jersey, losing your wallet sucks, so when I heard of two cases of the delicious Lagunitas brew in the area yesterday, I grabbed a sixer (all they allowed) to help alleviate my situation. That was yesterday, and today the Immort Ale has cometh. This brew is everything the label describes, complex, oaky, touch of vanilla and maple, and a big booze body. Just like every DFH brew, I am really enjoying it and anxiously awaiting it's inevitable climb to room temperature goodness. I gave a sip to my mom and she really liked it. Cheers all!

Dogfish Immort Ale is amazing. I'm personally having a Geary's HSA. Really good for the price point, and I toured the brewery a couple of weeks back. Totally recommend to anyone who can get it.

A big THANK YOU to all my NBSers. Your online toasts, and personal BM's prove that we're not just a bunch of strangers. Cheers to you all! After the visitation this afternoon, the weather was warm and sunny, so a group of us went to one of my locals, sat in the sunshine on the deck, had drinks, grilled cheese sandwiches, told stories and just generally celebrated Mike's life. He would have approved. I was able to sneak in a couple new brews after all, both from Seattle brewpub Naked City. If you visit Seattle, a stop at NC should be on your must hit list: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18353/91651
