I get what they're doing, but I also understand this can create problems for beer consumers. And then considering other breweries or events might follow suit, there's only one thing we can do. We all have to change our name to John Smith. I know it's not going to be easy, but in the end I think we'll all benefit. If anyone has a suggestion for a different name to change to, let me know.

Wait how does it create problems for beer consumers? Wouldn't it mainly create problems for scalpers?

I don't think it was any easier to get tickets due to less scalpers or anything. That said, I support thier decision to put names on tickets and make it a pain in the ass to scalp them 100%

what are you talking about? this is the best/fairest idea that has come about. The only people this hurts are scalpers and people that buy from scalpers (which are just as scummy and just as illegal)

I applaud 3F and Alesmith and all those great breweries saying F you to scalpers.

There is a dark spot in hell for scalpers. The lowest scum suckers on earth.

I would say it hurts people trying to trade for tickets. Last year we had two As and a C and I was able to trade the C for another A.

yeah that's just more an inconvenience than anything. A price any true beer advocate would gladly pay to stop the scum of the earth from making money of other's hard work.

That may be true...but it seems a small price to pay for killing the rampant scalping we saw last year.

So, uh....I was just sort of joking around. I actually do support combating scalping. I think this method creates some small problems (what if an emergency comes up and you can't go? now you AND your guest are screwed), but I don't have a better alternative and this does prevent scalping.

I felt like the sarcasm was pretty thick, but it's a language that unfortunately not many speak.

Yep, you'd be out about $70. It sucks, but you can thank the scalper trash for having it come to this.

What's the chance of someone having my name, a ticket in hand, ultimately unable to attend, and locating me?

What's the chance of someone looking like me, a ticket in hand, ultimately unable to attend, and sending me their ID?
