I will be headed to LA for work April 8th. My main goals are to visit The Bruery and a bottle shop. I have a couple of questions. I will not have a car so I will have to cab it from location to location. Unfortunately I will not have time to drive to Escondido/San Diego.

Is there a good bottle shop near The Bruery? On the BA guide to LA the recommended bottle shops don't seem to be close to The Bruery.
Are there any beer oriented location in LA that are must visits?

The Bruery is in Placentia which is near Disneyland. That isnt LA. Much worse,Orange County. Depending on where you are in LA there is Total Wine in Thousand Oaks,Cap n Cork in Los Feliz,8th street bottle shop downtown,Beverage Warehouse in Marina Del Rey. All good selection and think they are all still open. Good Luck.

there is a total wine about 3 miles from the bruery in Brea
i frequent the bruery often and hear the liquor store in the same parking lot has a decent selection
you do realize how spread out los angeles area is, as a cab ride may become very costly $
    where exactly are you staying?

As you said you won't be able to get to Escondido which has a lot of good stuff in a small vicinity. I would try maybe http://www.hitimewine.net it's in costa mesa, not sure how good the store is.

OC and Costa Mesa are fairly close. Mapquest says 23 mins....that might be bit much in a cab.

You need to rent a car. End of story.

i can see going to Orange County if you're a huge Bruery fan, but that's about the only reason.. definitely do not drive to the OC just to go to a bottle shop. there is plenty of good stuff to do right near where you'll be staying.

you will be very close to many great beer bars, cocktail lounges, restaurants and, if you like Japanese food, Japan town. also some interesting architecture and museums

if you like Belgians you definitely have to go to Little Bear http://www.littlebearla.com/

Far Bar has one of the best tap lists in downtown http://farbarla.com/

The Edison, Varnish, and 7 Grand are all cool speakeasy style cocktail lounges. will want to dress a little nicer

Wurstkuche is a fun german sausage house, with a decent German / Belgian tap list. always a crowd pleaser http://www.wurstkuche.com/

there are lots of things around all of LA. just pointing out that right downtown there is a lot to do and wouldn't even need to drive
