I was fortunate to land this in a trade and was wondering how "rare" or sought after this beer was. Any thoughts on what other "whales" I might be able to ask for. I suppose I am asking, if you were in my shoes what would you consider trading for it - if even at all?

My suggestion: if you traded for it, drink it and enjoy it rather than trying to use it as a bargaining chip in your climb up the ladder to Wales.

I think it's a very desirable beer... It's on my list of whalez to slay and I'd probably give up Darkness, Pentagram and something like a 4pk of abrasive or Peruvian morning to get one. However with all that said, if you haven't had it before then I think you should enjoy it... If you decide you don't want it I'm sure people will happily trade for it though.

I bet it trades for similar beers you traded to get it.

What's the point in the "no auctioning" rule if people just use this part of the forum to do the same?

So basically, what you're saying is that you found someone to accept your mediocre beers (in other words, hooked you up) in exchange for this, and now you're hoping to flip it for "whales".
If this isn't the case, you know exactly what beers it can get since you had to trade it to get it.

And people say '12ers are bad.

Why "land it in a trade" if you didnt want it?

To be honest, I am just addicted to trading, I suppose the pursuit of the "perfect beer" has capture my thoughts.

I saw that, but why does everyone need to land wales? Why not just land, and drink, good beers? The two aren't always the same.

Well how would you ever find out your "perfect beer" if you are always trading beers away that you've never had?

I don't even see the point. Most whales are whales because they were released before the public knew what they were.

    M - barrel-aged barleywine in 2005 (?)
    Dave - barrel-aged strong ale in 2004 (?)
    Framboos - 1999
    Toronado 20th - 2007

And so on. Brewers have had a chance to replicate and/or improve upon the recipes since then. To think that lightning only strikes once, and that it only strikes early on, is really narrow-minded on the beer public's part. I'd rather have any batch of Consecration than T20 (or T25 for that matter). I suppose if you're Sean9689 (the original HaveUSeenMyCellar), then yeah, it's important to have the rare stuff. But a lot of it is blown way out of proportion to how it actually tastes.

You have to be a professional troll. You come up with some of the ridonculous stuff in reply some threads.

I can see the point... Most people won't slay their whales and more stuff comes out everyday. What's the point? I just want to continually try new beers and better beers. I'm content with that.
