As a recently joined member I feel like a noob compared with most of the seasoned vets on here but I'm starting to really enjoy talking about brews with all my fellow BA's on here. This isn't so much a "trade" post but here it is anyway; After posting in the same thread about our most wanted "wants" geneseohawk bm'd me about kbs, as it was that and heady that I mentioned in the most wanted thread. He told me that if I gave him my address that he would gladly send me some "on the house" so I could try it, he lives in illinois too so shipping cost wasn't a concern for him. Skeptical but hopeful I sent my address and a few days later a box showed up at my door with an '09, '11 and '12 inside!! I asked if he wanted some zd in return that I'd glady ship but he said nothing but let me know when it arrives safely. I was floored, I didn't expect this kind of random generosity from a stranger at all. I hope that there are more people out here as nice as this guy was, because if there are then I joined an awesome community of fellow beer lovers who also share my passion. Cheers!
You'll be surprised. There are some awesome people on here, who go above and beyond for people they don't even know. Just pay it forward and do the same.
That attitude will serve you well. To me sharing beer is the best part of great beer. I do love it myself but seeing someone else have the same reaction is awesome.
I've just joined this community of beer lovers but I can tell you that I hope to make somebody else's day like this guy made mine.
His box will have his address so pay him back in kind. A well thought out box is greatly appreciated by anyone, quality locals or wants or style wants are always great. Then find another way to show your passion for beer with someone else after. True advocacy always pays off in my experience.
Like they said. Save his address. Wait until you score some cool beers (special release, traveling, etc) and then send him some. Geneseohawk can probably already get Zombie Dust.
