So it's easy to have beer in your diet... as long as you don't drink it?

Seems like those who don't refrain because of the weight issue.
So my question is, if you didn't gain weight from beer consumption, would you drink everyday?

I work in customer service. I drink a lot pretty much every day.

I've convinced myself that hoppy beers ward off illness.

1 a day on work nights, rarely more than 3 (would have to be some kind of long event or major holiday) on a weekend.

Can't remember the last time I got sick. My wife is a teacher and brings home goodness knows what from her students.

I meant weeknights. Beer can still be part of your weekly diet, as long as you dont have it everyday. I'm certain its possible to drink beer everyday if you cut back on other items. I tend to cut back on beer certain days of the week so I can eat other things.

If there were no health issues and no weight gain, I think everyone would drink everyday. If there were no calories, but there still were health issues, I would not drink every day.

I have somewhere around 22-36 oz's a night. Sometimes if I over indulge on a Saturday night I don't drink on Sunday. But, have a couple almost every night of the week.

Nice. I started to try and pay for beers before having them. For example, last Sunday I burned 800 calories walking (2 hours). I then had 4 beers with dinner or about 800 calories.

I have a shirt in sign language saying "A Beer a Day Keeps the Doctor Away." Considering that apples have pesticides, an apple a day does NOT keep the doctor away. But beer does

What health issues are there with 1 or even 2 beers a day? Not being smart, but I can't imagine 1 beer a day can have any adverse effects on ones body. I do know not drinking during the week would have a serious effect on my mind. I'd lose it.

Something I don't see talked about very often in these threads. The amount of alcohol you can consume before it affects you is highly dependent on your body weight.

Example. If you weigh 100 LBS, and drink 3 beers (5%abv) in 2 hours. Your blood alcohol level will be .092%(legally drunk). If you weigh 200 LBS, and drink the exact same amount, your blood alcohol level will be .034%(maybe a sight buzz)

Well, under the no calorie senario, I imagine people would drink more.

In a real senario, I imagine that for long term health, two beers a day isn't that detrimental to your health. However, the issue arrises when two a day starts to become a minimum.

Come to think of it, I usually have 1-2 beers each day and haven't really been sick for several years now since I started this craft beer drinking hobby. Now I've always said its because I've become more attentive (or neurotic ocd) to keeping my hands clean and using sanitizer all the time. Maybe there is something about 1 beer a day that helps boost the immune system.

I'm usually good for 1-4 beers a day, depending on pretty much whatever is going on, or not going on.

Weekdays and wife isn't home from work yet, I'll probably have 1-2 before she's home, and another with dinner.

Friday evening after work, I'll take a growler with me on the golf cart while I speed around the club to play a couple holes, and then I'll drink some other stuff while I'm grillin'.

Never enough to get a hangover/drunk during the week, and rarely do I get hammered ever. Did a tasting with some buddies the other week, and we didn't drink too many bottles, but everyone had a decent buzz going.

I'm definitely there, its one of those things where I just enjoy coming home and enjoying the great flavor of my favorite beer or a new one that I just picked up off the shelf. Just one beer a night to savor the flavor and then maybe a couple or a few on my days off.
I tell my woman, its one of my few vices, at least I'm not going out to a strip joint and coming home reeking of perfume, cheap beer, and covered in glitter. She always seems to stop complaining when I put it that way.
    Cheers!

In 2012 I consciously wanted to have 1 (or more) drink/s for 333 of the 366 days. I ended up going 354 for 366, and wrote the name of at least one of my drinks each day. My oldest brother also did so, though with more lax documentation. Unfortunately I didn't actually count the drinks per day. I also tracked my money spent on alcohol (~210/month). I think I was sick less than normal (barring an extenuating circumstance).

For 2013 I'm not trying to drink every day but recording each standing drink I have, along with both of my brothers, and my weekly alcohol spending. We use a google spreadsheet. I also have a txt file where I write down the name of every beer I have, divided by week.

Since my group of friends and I all downloaded the App "Untappd", we are consuming more craft beers......which is a good thing. I know personally, I'm trying beers I would never have thought of in the past, just so I can record another "Distinct" beer on my app. That being said, I probably have a beer 4-5 times a week (typically 1-2 at home), but not to the point of getting drunk.

Just realize I said standing, I meant standard, but with rounding. E.g. I count one 12 oz SN Bigfoot as 2.
Funny to think of me drinking lying down, or having had enough to struggle standing!

I work graveyard so I really cannot drink too much during the day. I'll have at most one, maybe two beers if low ABV on a work day (work starts at 10p, I don't drink past 7pm). During the weekend however all bets are off.

I'd say on average I have 3 beers during the work week.

I know that feeling, but I would also include The Bachelor. Having to sit through those shows will make a man want to drink heavily.
