I have never had any of their beers, but there's a bar here in Toronto that has a bunch of their beers, and I was wondering what you fine folks thought I should dig into.
They currently have fou foune, lou pepe 2005, lou pepe kriek 2007, lou pepe framboise 2007, iris 2006, st. lamvinus bottled in 2009, vigneronne 2009, kriek, rose de gambrinus, Grand Cru Bruocsella 2006 and geuze. what would your top 3 be? I appreciate the input

If I had to choose and couldn't just pick "all of them" it would be 1) St. Lamvinus 2) LP Kriek 3) Fou Foune

What's the Lou Pepe 2005? Really you can't go wrong with any of them, but you've basically listed them in the order of "hard to easy to find" (just switch Iris and St. Lam). I'd go with Fou Foune then the Lou Pepes, probably Gueuze and Kriek before Framboise.

But really, they're all good choices.

my top three on that list are fou foune, lou pepe kriek, and vignerrone.

considering that you haven't had them before, i'd recommend that you start with the geuze, then move to the kriek and rose de gambrinus, then start exploring the others.

Start with the Classic Gueuze and work your way up...Rose, Kriek, Iris, etc...not necessarily in that order, but you catch my drift...enjoy you lucky bastard!

So I finished exams today and met a friend for a couple celebratory beers.
I had the Geuze 100% lambic bio and the kriek bio. The geuze was $14 for a 375 ml bottle, and it was $6 cheaper than cuvee rene gueze...is that odd? and is that a good price?
    the kriek was $16
they have fou foune 750's for $36/bottle, whch will be my next purchase
how are these in terms of prices?

wow, cuvee rene cost $20 for a small bottle? I am guessing this is at a bar, but that is still high. I think the Cantillon prices are fair for a bar, especially the Fou Foune, that is the price for a bottle in a store in SD (in the slim chance it is available somewhere).

If that 2005 Lou Pepe is the LP Gueuze, it will strip the enamel right off your teeth. Not recommended to start with, unless you're the kind of guy who eats Warheads like...candy(?).

The Cantillon insanity is mostly a recent US thing. In other countries it more or less sits on shelves with permanent availability.

Recent prices in Oregon for comparison:

    Classic Gueuze: $8.50/12oz
    Kriek: $10/12oz
    Fou Foune: $22/750ml

And that's because Americans beer obsessives truly understand the greatness of Cantillon while most of the rest of the world sit around playing with themselves while singing the praises of bland mass produced international lagers.
    Americans. They ain't dumb.

Whatever you pick, one should be the gueuze. It is the base beer for many of the others and so would help give you a sense of what the others bring to the table. You also have an exceelent opportunity to do a side-by-side tasing with some of those beer.
