New KBS Glassware for those interested

Founders...EPIC FAIL with this glass...

 

Well, if you're desperate, there is a turd already selling them on Ebay for 3x the cost.

I am pretty sure it's literally just a sticker hand placed on each glass. Looks like cheap, shoddy work.

 

Uh, no. Not a sticker.
Screen printed. I will say that the slight overlap does cheaper it some. And the glass quality (mold flash on the flange) is not Rastal grade. Then again, I've gotten wobbly Rastals so that goes without saying.

Bottom line, this thing was meant to look good FULL.

 

I grabbed a couple, and when I did the gal said they only got 1300 glasses; they were down to about 3 cases (that I could see) on friday.

I'm not a huge glassware nerd, so if anyone is ISO,
I'll swap the two of them to you for some beer or something.

Shoot me a BM and we can work out the details.

 

I like the glass

 

I liked buying two of them. I disliked having one break in transit. Not sure if it was bad bagging at Founders, or just too much jostling in the car.

 

Now that I have one in hand, it's a well-made glass, and I like the design. However, the point about the overlap on the ribbon is a slight drawback. I don't think that was necessary at all, and it detracts from it a little. I still enjoy the glass and will use it to drink my KBS.

 

It's growing on me.. It's not the best, but it's not awful.

Why do the KBS 2013 threads keep getting taken down? Is it cause there are so many people trolling and complaining in those threads?

 

Too many threads. There only needs to be one, plus maybe a second for the breweriana (if that).

 

They actually all got shut down. The 25 page thread got taken down last night

 

Having had the opportunity to enjoy fresh KBS out of the masking tape glass...


. .it tasted just like it did out of the plastic cups at KBS Day.

 

Now there's a ringing endorsement.
I guess I'm better off drinking it out of the bottle. Done.

I bought one of these on Friday in the evening, they said they were running low at the time.
Yesterday I opened it up just wanting to smell it, then I turned it over and BOOM about a pint worth of liquid came out. It wasn't KBS it was much lighter. So I strained out all the tiny black barrel pieces and gave it a drink. It tasted like a very flat IPA with a lot of bourbon flavor. It was very good though. At this point I had to assume that they had run out of KBS barrels and sold some DOOM barrels. My wife call Founders today while I was at work and it was confirmed that it was DOOM. To make a long story short, if you got one of these barrels pop it open and drink that shit!

 

Well, we are in a recession...
