Does Toronado in SD have cable car for on site like Churchills has CFH for on site? My brother in law is coming in town and was thinking of taking him down there if they do.

    Cheers!

I wish the SF location would have it more often. I hear about people always, well more often anyway, being able to go in and order CC in SD location.

A few months ago, I was in Toronado one afternoon and some guy was going absolutely ballistic because of a surprisingly high bottle price. It was entertaining.

Theiir bottle prices are so random. They were selling Parabola for $50. But then they had Peche n Brett for $30. We were like, "lol wat"

When i went a few weeks ago for my bday i ordered food, 2 or 3 beers and then got a bottle of peche n brett and my bill was 42 dollars. i was amazed it was so low. maybe they missed a beer or 3 .

I believe it was Malheur (though I could have misheard it), and the guy was claiming the same bottle he paid 40-something for at Toronado was something like 17 bucks at O'Brien's.

The first couple of times I went to Toronado, I asked about a couple of bottles and when I was told the price I laughed (mostly because I'm cheap!) and now I don't even look. Their draft list is fine by me. I also don't have anything against their prices, because they're really set for someone who isn't me, and if I really want something, I'll go find it at retail.

I did sit next to a guy who wanted Cable Car once, but he only had 70 dollars, so I pitched in 10 and got a glass. That was nice.

If it's really $80/bottle at the SD location, I'd rather it stay the way it is.

I dunno, I think that I'd rather have the option of getting something when I want to fork over the dough, than just not be able to get it at all because I don't live at the bar. That's one reason I'm cautiously optimistic about Mikkeller's new bar, if they have some .rar lambic for $Texas then I might be able to go in on it with a group of friends, rather than get buttraped in a trade.

Another thing about Toronado, is they change the prices on a whim (or depending on the time of year.) Everything during SDBW and when CBC was here was absolutely insane.

When I had my one and only bottle of Cable Car Kriek, it was just a random weekend. It was only (lol only) $55.

I agree. I'd personally like the option. Hope they release some more this year. Better yet, some cck!

My CC Kriek was only $55 as well. I have to say I think it was worth it, if only the one time.

Cable Car has gotten less appealing the past couple of years...fresh, it seems to be good, but not quite ready for prime-time. Aged, it really hits its stride, but the prices (at least in San Diego) go up rather quickly . 2010 was nice, sitting at the bar drinking it on tap for $3/glass in a mostly empty bar.

I personally would of rather paid Toronodo's price rather than trading what I had to to get one :slight_frown:

What do San Diegans not complain about? Weather?
