I was there yesterday and it wasn't available. It was Easter Sunday and the last day of the month so that probably had something to do with it.

Out of curiosity, why does that explain the lack of CC?

I've heard that they set aside a case per month and when it's gone they won't sell any more bottles until the next month. Yesterday was the last day of March and a holiday so it's possible whoever is in charge of this hasn't set aside the next case yet. Just speculation on my part though.

They were out last time I was there too. Also were out of Silva Stout. I stopped trying after that.

Maybe they can smell the East Coast on us.

So that raises the question: does Toronado SD do the same thing with bottles that the one up north does? I thought I've read on here that they don't, but that would explain my experience.

Mad props for using "raises the question" instead of "begs the question". I don't know the answer to your question, but I did enjoy seeing that.

if you mean sell bottles to go, then no the SD location does not do that. I think their license does not allow it, I am sure if I am wrong someone will correct me

No, I didn't mean that. I meant are they selective with who they sell bottles like that to for consumption at the bar?

It's not clear to me that Toronado SF is actually selective in any meaningful way (I mean, if you're a shithead then they won't sell to you, but their threshold isn't THAT much lower than anywhere else). The first time I went there they sold one to me without me ordering anything else. So you CAN just walk in and get it right off the bat.

I think that, in general, if they tell you they don't have it then they actually don't have it where those employees can get it, and it gets moved to the for-sale locations sporadically and randomly.

    That sounds reasonable.
