The guy owned up and said he owes the OP a box. Get off your fucking ill-informed high horse.

Using his kid as an excuse?!? You've got a lot of balls, man.

He was aggressive, I'll give you that. But the main argument was that sending out a box doesn't take much time especially if it's already packed and that no excuse really validates the wait...

Everyone's got shit to do, and if communication would always be strong from both parties, I think these threads wouldn't come up so often.

On the bright side, he's going to be sending the box so this is closed.

He accused the guy of using his infant son as an excuse, after the guy had manned up and said he was going to make it right. That's not aggressive, that's being an asshat.

I agree. No one on BA has ever overused "life happens" as an excuse, and ThirstyHef is definitely beyond reproach simply by admitting he owes a box. I don't care if the OP said, "Several times I've been told the package will be out tomorrow and still nothing." Infant son is infant!!!

there's nothing to post about... if you don't buy his excuse, don't trade with him. if everyone "makes it right," then what does anyone else have to talk about? make a note of his username yourself if you think this makes him a bad trader.

this post brought to you by life lessons from captain obvious.

If I have to climb up onto a high horse to say that it is unacceptable and inexcusable to wait three months and deliver several failed promises in the process of sending someone what you owe them, then you are suffering from the soft bigotry of lowered expectations (to quote the great 21st century philosopher).

And he DID use his son as an excuse. I didn't evaluate the circumstances and come up with my own exotic interpretation, I just read what he said: "FWIW, While this trade (which was the last ISO/FT I posted) was started before the birth of my son, I did not realize how little time I would have contribute to trading once he arrived. This trade in particular presented an additional time restraint I did not foresee. As Jed acknowledges, I did attempt to ship prior to his birth and was asked to wait."

But he's a patron saint and I'm an asshat for calling a spade a spade? Please. We should really have a new BA award for "Most Stand-Up Dad to Take Only Three Months to Ship On His End After Being Forced to Do So By a Bad Trader Alert".

This is how I like my bad trader threads. Nice and clear. Can use posts/info to determine whether or not to ever trade with the bad trader, the OP, and/or certain members of the peanut gallery.

I think you're taking it to the extreme. Those sticking up for TH are doing so because this was unexpected, and are surprised by his name being called out as a bad trader. This seems like a first for him, and nobody is justifying his actions, just being understanding of his reasoning. Doesn't condone his lateness, just providing a little perspective as to why.

And as others have said, he's admitted his wrongdoing, and has pledged to rectify the situation. You admittedly played devil's advocate in your first post, how can you go on the defensive about it now?

After all, who on this site HASN'T given 3 months of runaround to ship a box?

I have seven children (that I know of). Three of them are under 1 year old.

Followed by "Dumbest 2012er"...although the academy would have a really tough time selecting a winner given all the candidates.

Threads like this show me many people that I never want to trade/associate with. Oh, and Herf isn't one of em. I'd gladly trade with him.

I think it would only be fair to include other BA's that are older than the 2012 date that find ways to twenty twelve it up in here.

I hope others see this thread and realize that in case the unexpected happens, like a child arriving into the world suddenly, folks may find it impossible to do things they once did in a carefree and leisurely manner. I am talking about things like driving on a road, or walking into a building, even sending emails. My children were both school age before I had time to do any of these activities. We need to be more understanding of those who suddenly find themselves in the unforeseeable circumstance of having children. Let's try to be more understanding and supportive, rather than condemnative.
