This is exactly how I justify spending $20+ on 4 packs.

Disagree. 12oz is where it's at. Down with bombers! Let's not give Founders any ideas.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh...we need to endorse the 12-oz. style so more breweries adopt (re-adopt?) this format for big beers! BCBCS in 12 oz. bottles would be delightful.

Went over to Vas Foremost in Logan, and picked up a 4 pack, but almost decided not to purchase it once I heard the price. Instead I stared and repeated the price with a confused/f.u. face and just said f it and bought it cause I didn't want to waste my time driving around. $30 is just f'ing ridiculous. Considering banning the place in the future.

If they sold bombers of KBS at least I could make a trip and get more beer instead of traveling just to get 12oz of it. One bottle limits suck on non-bombers, I understand why liquor stores do it, but I still hate all the travel for very little.

Just curious... what prices are people seeing out there? What is acceptable and what is absurd?

If I can snag another bottle without hassle for $5.99, I'd do it. That's my max.

    $7.99+ is absurd.

Seriously? Just read this thread. Multiple people have posted prices that retailers are charging, and multiple people have given their opinions of various prices.

Didn't mean to offend you... I saw a couple of posts about specific stores but I didn't know if that was what everyone was charging or if those stores were just outrageous. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Binnys Algonquin was $6.29, is anyone seeing prices closer to this elsewhere or is it $7.99+ pretty much everywhere?

thx, seems to be the trend...

I just took a journey down the rt 34 and 63rd beer corridors and no one had any yet. That'll do me on hunting for the day. Did pick up a chilled madame rose for the troubles tho!

This year's batch is definitely more coffee forward than last year's batch, and the coffee flavor itself is quite different than it was in last year's batch. I suspect Founders changed the type or supplier of coffee when they expanded. I get the same coffee taste in KBS as in this year's FBS, and I remember thinking how different the coffee tastes in FBS compared to previous years' FBS. More importantly, this year's KBS doesn't have the delicious vanilla and oak that the 2012 batch had. It's still a very good beer worth buying, but it's definitely not the same as it was.

(For the record, I'm usually one to ridicule others who claim this year's batch of [insert rare beer] is worse than previous years' batches.)

I wasn't offended, it's just that people ask questions so often without doing a little reading themselves. You're new here though, so you probably wouldn't know that. Welcome

To answer your question though, typically Binnys' pricing is usually pretty consistent from store to store. I haven't seen any KBS for sale with my own eyes yet this year, so I'm little help regarding prices. But it has become more and more common for stores to gouge on prices for these limited releases, so be prepared for that.

I picked up a 4 pack for $24.99. But it seems prices are all over the place depending on where you go.

Yup, let the truck chasing begin, or continue, depending on when you started.
