Drove over to Maine looking for KBS. My local sold their two cases of KBS in an hour, but I took a look around and saw the Doom on the shelf. One for me, one for my best friend. No idea why it got released so early.

It'll taste like BC Coffee Stout in 2.5 years of cellaring, at least from what Guys Drinking Beer says, so it's almost a mirror image

I just seems like they don't need to say that, though.. For some reason, their acknowledgement of that fact bugs me.

Well I don't think it was in response to its success. As DanzBorin said
and it goes along with the aesthetic. At most it may have been a self-fulfilling prophecy, but I bet it was originally just meant in good fun.

Work sent me up to Wisconsin today. Haven't been up there in quite awhile despite it only being a few hours away. I'd say the haul went well. Hit 2 bottles shops and a high end grocer in suburban Milwaukee. My haul for the week includes 2 other KBS and an Allagash FV13 not pictured that I got in my area yesterday. The picture was a little difficult to get all of them in view. The end result was 2 KBS (2 bottle limit at $5.50 each), 2 Serendipity, a Raspberry Tart, a Behemoth (full shelf just sitting there in the grocery store next to Rye'da Tiger and Stack N Stabb), a 4 pack of the new Hard Root Beer from Sprecher (only $4.50), a 4 pack of Buffalo Sweat that I didn't even know was sold in Wisconsin, 4 packs of CW Peruvian Morning & BBBW (there were shelves of these at all 3 stores), Ballistic IPA by Ale Asylum out of Madison (won the Milwaukee Beer Bracket this year), and 3 New Glarus thumbprint 4 Packs (Apple Ale, Saison, and IIPA). I felt pretty satisfied with my trip. It was hard to pass up the 6 packs of New Glarus at $7.50. This will be my last haul before Dark Lord Day. Need to thin the herd.

It "officially" goes on sale nationally April 22. Founders, unlike some other breweries, is on top of their game, and ships their beers prior to the on-sale dates so that distributors aren't left waiting for beers that should be on sale. Obviously not everybody listens to Founders' wishes. Those accounts will be noted by Founders and punished in the future.

An unexpected run when I found out something special was available in growlers nearby =)
    My mix 6 containing:
    Ruthless Rye
    MBC Lunch IPA
    '11 & '12 NC Old Stock Ale
    Titan IPA
    Old Curmudgeon
    And the kicker.............

The very last growler full of BCBCS!!!
I have never had it, and was absolutely thrilled to find out it was available for 32oz growler fills 10min from my work! I feel so lucky to have gotten there just in time to get the last fill (someone was asking for it like 2min after I got it)!!
