There are several people on Founders Facebook page bitching about KBS being sent to Texas.

I'm just.......amazed that Denton is getting some

I can believe it, folks up there were pissed that I was looking for it this year.

BTW hunting KBS in Cleveland, OH made BA Bigfoot look like a cake walk. I got a whopping 2 bottles of it

We only have 6 bars?! No shit...

I could have sworn we had 30 or so craft beer places in Houston (bars, not including bottle shops)

Is that list based on Founders numbers, if so, they effed up...

It's also been shown that the beer per capita numbers in Austin are highly skewed and very BMC-centric.

I am in no means saying Houston doesn't have a crapton of BMC drinkers. My neighbors prove that fact quite handily. lol

I think the crazy run on any release in Houston should prove something. At the same time I hear about how things are easier to find for a longer period of time on the shelf in Austin.

I think a lot of people underestimate how big a market Houston is.

Apparently we aren't allowed to enjoy KBS. Texans aren't good enough for their good-ol-boy club. lol

To be fair, people here similarly criticized Jester King. Let's not forget at one point, they were sending beer out as far as NJ and California while stores here had no stock. Just saying.. can't blame those people for being upset.

Same can be said about Houston with regards to BBXXIV

Touche! That's like 1 beer though, and right before the super explosion in Houston.

My point is that DFW, Austin, and Houston should be treated similarly to new breweries coming to Texas. Right now, the spotlight is on Austin and DFW with little regard to Houston.

I'm hoping Founders evens things out a bit and treats everybody fairly. And I'm not forgetting about San Antonio. I don't want you all left out in the cold, just a smaller market from what I understand.

But they did get stock. Probably way more made than any Jester King release and distributed to half the country.

Heaven forbid no bottles and 10ish kegs go to a new market they are trying to wow. lol

OTOH, I don't recall seeing label approvals for bottles here. We're just getting kegs and those people complaining are probably only thinking in terms of hunting for bottles in a store.

The numbers I listed were from the confirmed Founders launch not the total beer bars in each city. I find it odd that they would launch at 4 bars in Denton and only 6 in Houston.

This is sometimes true. I think it's due to Austin having a lot of smaller bottle shops throughout the city rather than only a few big destination stores. There are maybe 10 corner stores within a mile of my office that have great craft selections.

Anyway, if we don't get the limited stuff from Founders right away at least we're scheduled to start getting it by the Fall.

I agree. Also there are people in SA who would be willing to finish a KBS keg if they had to
