Not to split hairs, but I did not pay more then 22.99 for any BCBS 4 packs last year. As I say that, I bought one of those 4 packs of KBS for 26.99. I knew that was high but I was around to go there and knew I wouldn't have time to fight the rush the next couple of days. Now that I'm seeing what everyone else is charging for getting to buy 1-2 bottles of KBS, that was a solid deal.

 

Whenever anyone complains about 4-pack pricing I always ask them to divide by 2 and then ask if they would pay that for a bomber. You would have people breaking down doors to pay $13.50 for a bomber of KBS.

 

I was just stating beer prices from beermenus, I've never been able to buy a 4pk of KBS so I don't know the price. The 3 KBS I was able to buy thus far have been 2 @ $6 and 1 @ $6.50, so $26.99 isn't to jacked up IMO.

Just cracked my one bottle - whoever says Peruvian Morning is better is crazy. It is certainly NOT as thin, in fact, the body is close to BCBCS. Believe the hype. I will be trying to hunt at least one more bottle down to spread the gospel.

EDIT: I really like Peruvian Morning, but with all due respect, KBS takes it to another level.

 

It's a shame how that Prestige has gotten so greedy in the past year or so. It used to be a quality store before they learnt the ways of the gouger. I actually bought a dozen bottles of PVW/ORVW bourbon off them over the course of a year or so right before the Pappy bubble went all crazy.

They lost me with the $7.99 bottles of Backwoods Bastard last fall....

 

The Prestige in Des PLaines can be hit or miss on pricing as well. Sometimes they are okay, other times they gouge the hell out of you.

 

I emailed Founders about the shop I had the experience with today. I figure they dont want their product being used to clear stock anymore than we want to buy it.

 

I chased around one afternoon last year and didnt get any. If I can get some this year by walking in my local store great, but I'mdone chasing this beer. If someone wants to trade a four pack for a four pack BCBS in person Chicago burbs it could be an easier way for me to get some of this elusive beer.

 

Whole food schaumburg has one four pack as of noon.

 

I stopped by around 11 during lunch and they said it was all gone. What a bunch of fuckin morons.

 

Uncork-it in Streeterville got a case. Two dudes in front of me bought 3 4 packs. I managed to score 1 at $26.99. which, as of 10 minutes ago, leaves 2 four packs. Probably sold out as I typed this.

 

Inthe back. Ask the nice lady with brown hair. Super friendly.

 

Unreal. I talked to some girl with a slight attitude who said it was for sure all gone.

Whatever. Can't go back now.

 

If anyone who missed out wants a bottle in the Hinsdale area BM me. I'm on the list for one but the only catch is you have to buy another Founders product, I'm done chasing after I got my fourth bottle this morning.

 

I got this exact same treatment at around 11:35ish. A guy stocking the shelves checked with someone else right there at the cheese counter. Grr.
