I picked up a sixer of Kellerweis this evening that has a bottling date of October 23rd, 2012 (2297118:53). What is the shelf life of their Kellerweis?
You should be okay. It's not a hop forward beer. Obviously fresher the better, but with this type of beer, 6 months seems fine.
I've had one that was over a year old that I had kept in my fridge. It was still tasty. Though, I'm not much of a Hefferweizen drinker, so I guess I wouldn't notice a big difference.
We tend to say that Kellerweis is good for 150 days. So you're a bit out of code. That said, if the beer was refrigerated (should've been) and kept out of the light you should be OK. -Bill
Yes it is: 150 days= Pale Ale, Torpedo, Kellerweis, Porter, Stout, Ruthless, Summerfest, Tumbler, Celebration, So. Hem, No. Hem, Estate, Hoptimum. 365 days= Bigfoot, Narwhal, Ovila (all could go longer if kept properly) -Bill
