Its a little frustrating to not even get 1 bottle. I went to a few of my regular spots that get just about every special beer released and they sold out within hours. Its a combination between new distrobution in the area (from what I heard) and people that feel the need to get cases of this stuff by store jumping. I got 1 bottle last year, and waited to get this years to do a mini verticle - but it looks like thats not happening.
Also, stores post the release on social media (which i am a huge fan of), but people who dont work or have very flexible jobs, get the first dibs and buy all of it before 5:00!
I like the way DeCicco's did the westy release (althoug KBS isnt quit ethe same). They passed out tix and released the beer at 5:00. I actually got my 6-pack of that but cant get 1 bottle of KBS.

Had to log in to Like Hanzo's Flavor Flav comment and to respond to this message.

Decicco's did social media for the KBS release (just not tickets) and limited to two per customer. I believe, but can't confirm, that they had it until close of business that day so it did make it past 5PM.

I should clarify...Im not on facebook so I dont get updates or whatever you get from it...I just use twitter. But I do check lots of bottle shops FB pages to keep up to date on releases. Looks like it got released in the AM on wednesday- gone last night. - guess i missed that boat. Ardsley sold out in 20mins (by 10:00am the day it was released)
    still frustrating...
im glad to see such success of beers like this (an hate hearing stories of how 5 years ago nobody could give it away)
I guess work and life is getting in the way, of going out of my way, for beer...damn job and everyone operating on the same buisiness schedule.

Not me. I'm over this stuff already. Now I'm just going out and seeing if Doom has hit anywhere around here yet. Failing that, I'm taking the $24 I didn't spend on KBS + $12 and buying my annual case of Oberon.

I bought bourbon lol, its become my second obsession to beer. I think I may also pick up a 4 of PT5 on the way home as I can still get that in a few places.

I can too I just happen to disagree with it. Your not getting a bargain to supplement to buy 1 bottle of KBS, I might not be as put off if I was buying a 4 pk.

2 days and 8 hours of driving to finish up my trips. I squeezed in going to the release of Hoppin Frog Gangster IPA too. I got 15 total bottles at 5 different places.

Well, I still picked up the four pack, knowing I won't find it anywhere else. So maybe a fool is me.

LAX WI got KBS today. If you missed out on $20 4-packs at Woodmans you can score some at Bodega but be ready to shell out $14+ per bottle.

The folks who can't find KBS aren't gonna want to read this...

Here in the Lansing area, most stores received two cases each. Early in the week, stores were selling one 4-pack per customer but (obviously) sold out very quickly. By Tuesday, most stores were limiting people to two bottles and raising the price slightly -- still went through it pretty fast. To the best of my knowledge, the last of it hit town this morning and the few stores that have any are selling one bottle per person.

With one exception. The Meijer store in Okemos received four cases this morning. They sold AN ENTIRE CASE EACH to two friends who were the first to stop by, and then sold the rest (4-pack at a time) in about an hour. I was lucky enough -- and persistent enough -- to collect quite a few from different stores, but selling two whole cases like that is a real slap in the face to guys who would love to have a couple bottles.

Yup, twice as much legwork this year for half the amount as last year. This craft beer trendiness is getting crazy.
