Macro or micro. Confined space work is never safe. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...cident-at-grupo-modelo-brewery-in-mexico.html
Havent heard anything about that. Thats terrible news. Thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected i hope the comments here stay clean and classy.
If I were guessing, they were probably in some type of chip tank used for aging. These tanks at BMC plants are huge (6000 bbl) and can fill with CO2. Could've been asphyxiation from CO2. Usually confined space entry requires someone on the outside with a meter continuously monitoring air quality, but not sure about Mexico. Again, just guessing. Prayers to all the families.
Jesus, that's terrible. Sounds like it must have been a preventable accident, whatever the cause. Hope this results in some real changes in safety precautions at that plant. There's no good reason beer brewing should result in casualty counts as high as endeavors like mining or space exploration.
That's just freaky. I remember watching Sam from Dogfishead climb into his new tank on one of his brewmasters episodes.. and my first thought was what if they get trapped inside. What a terrible way to die . I hope they look into the safety at their facility and fix the issue.
Yeah, not usually any 'chemical' but lack of O2 in confined space deaths. Maybe someone left the CO2 on...
You act like you are shocked? Wouldn't be the first time, and won't be the last time, that a company puts profits over people.
