My favorite remains Deschutes Mirror Mirror. They haven't made it since '09 but I still have one bottle left.

Not sure what you mean by you can hook me up. But if you're referring to a trade of some type, Rhode Island has laws preventing the shipping of alcohol. I actually found and purchased a bottle of Sucaba that I am looking forward to cracking open.

    Mother of all Storms!

God, it's beautiful!!! Sucaba is also phenomenal, and I've always been pretty partial to SN Bigfoot, as well as Stone's Old Guardian (both more approachable by price).

central waters bbbw. Bell's 3rd coast. I'm personally not a huge fan of bigfoot, though it is decent fresh i think it doesn't age too well.

Yea, what else would I be referring to? I didn't recognize your state's laws nor do I really care. I guess I won't be trading with you which is too bad. Prost!

There are many laws on the books you likely break every day, like the speed limit for example. Live a little. Most of our states have similar laws to yours yet we live in trading bliss.

I'd second this recommendation - recently had a 2010 that was one of the best non-BA barleywines I've ever had.

I've only ever had a taste of King Henry (thank you stranger in the KBS release line) and it was amazing. Hopefully someday I will get to try a bottle of my own.

Picked up a bottle of Sucaba while on vacation out west this summer, and I have to say it is my new favorite. If I remember correctly, Old Guardian was one of my first ventures into the style and is damn tasty.

I don't know why, but I'm just not a fan of Bigfoot, while everyone else seems to love it. Barleywines are really hit or miss with me.

I've been trying to get into this style, but am having a tough time finding some good ones to ease me into it. Any and all input is appreciated!

What have you tried so far and what is it you don't like about them?
If you've only had the hopped up American style Barleywines then you should try to see if you like more of an english style.

Never quite sure where to put it, but Anchor Old Foghorn was the one that did it for me.

One thing to keep in mind is that like IPA, there are distinct American and English varieties that taste different. With barleywines, the English versions tend to be boldy sweet and malty with mild earthy notes from the hops really only keeping that sweetness in check. American versions will be sweet as well, but are also extremely hoppy (using west coast American hops) and occasionally even cross lines with DIPA's.
These days it's also becoming fairly common for brewers to age both versions in spirits barrels for a 3rd spin on the style.

Insanity was my first. I freaking loved it.

For english ones try Insanity, Old Foghorn, Our Finest Regards, Blithering Idiot, and Sucaba if you can get it. If those are too sweet, try bigfoot or flying mouflan.
