As most of you know old sock (the mad fermentationist/ mike) has a lot of knowledge on sours and is always posting fantastic advice here on this forum and hbt and his blog. I'd like to be the first person on the forum to say congratulations on getting your book published!! Although I have yet to make my first sour I have one in the pipeline and have the confidence to do so successfully thanks to your blog. Great work and I can't wait to buy the book!!

    Cheers Pat.

Haven't brewed sours yet due to space issues, but damn if I don't get totally sucked into oldsock's site for mass amounts of time. I add my thanks and congrats.

Oh great, another beer book to buy

Maybe if enough of us mention it, the publishing date will get moved up.

Congrats! Mike has been super helpful when I've reached out for help with berliners/wilds, I'll definitely support his first published work.

"...slotted for sometime in 2015." Frustrated.

With all due respect, I want to "dislike" this comment. I will be patiently waiting.

But...CONGRATS MIKE!!! You have quietly helped so many people, including myself. It's about time you are put on blast for everyone to know how generous you are with information about all aspects of brewing.

    Cheers!

Oh by all means I dislike it too! Mike is great! He is generous with info as before I was even on BA he helped me out via email, from reading his blog. My statement of "frustrated" is more about the fact that I won't even try brewing a sour (sour-not brett) beer until I have his book in my hands. I am assuming it will be much of what you could get from reading though his entire blog, which I think I have, but I want it on hand. The input from the brewers he spoke with will be awesome too.

Thanks for all the excitement! Here are details (draft table of contents, list of people I talked to, details of working with Brewers Publications so far etc.): http://www.themadfermentationist.com/2013/04/my-book-has-publisher.html

Sorry about the distant publication date, but if you want to show Brewers Publications your excitement over Twitter or Facebook, it certainly couldn't hurt!

Awesome, the Mad Fermentationist blog was the inspiration for me to get back into home brewing. Having had mixed success so far with sour beers I need this book like yesterday. Congrats, Old Sock.

I'm looking forward to it whenever it is ready for publication. The 2015 date and the 2 or so pubs a year target makes me wonder what is planned for 2013 and 2014?

    Palmer's water book, a malt book (?), ______ and ________?
