Anyone else notice that these people exist? I ask this because I read all the time on beer related Yahoo! articles in the comment section, people say things like "I'll pass on that fizzy yellow stuff, give me a Guinness!" More specifically though, I have one friend in particular (hurts to call him a friend... :slight_frown:) that says he absolutely refuses to drink BMC, but he really enjoys Leinenkugel (Summer Shandy specifically) and loves Sol (a Mexican adjunct lager, I think). Now, I haven't and won't hound him for drinking what he likes, but it seems hypocritical to me. This same friend also likes Guinness, but is disgusted by better examples of the style. Guinness is no doubt a big step up (in my opinion) from BMC, but I just find it strange that EYE (had to emphasize "I" somehow) sometimes feel that I get looked down on for drinking craft beer at times.

I've been called a hipster for drinking craft beer over a round of PBRs before. ... *cough*

Oh well, while I drink my "girly" craft beer, I'm getting buzzed and buzzed-er while they guzzle their light beer.

Share your experiences, people -- me gusta "faux" beer snobs.

Sure, although I think it's simply more of a brand loyalty thing.

My uncle's a coors light drinker, he tried a Union Jack and said it tasted like a burnt tire, I always thought that was a funny description.

    Yesyesyes this.

I watched ... the hell is it called. A beer documentary. And they had a bunch of BMC drinkers choose between BMC, and a good number of them chose one that they "didn't like". Obviously there were people that got it right and got edited out, but I was still amused.

I find that Miller Lite's easily distinguishable between the three just because it's a shade darker. I guess no one else can notice it.

Sorry, I do not want to derail the thread, but I keep seeing "BMC". What does that mean?

And yes, it's funny when people are all about Guinness. It's weak and terrible. Tripels, my personal favorite style, may be lighter in color and fruity, but they will put you on your ass.

I was standing in the beer aisle with a friend of mine deciding on what beer to buy and he decides on a Swedish pale lager brewed by Carlsberg Sweden. His reasoning for this was that he doesn't want to buy any "Danish shit beer" like the Carlsberg which was also on the shelf. Both Carlsberg and the beer he bought is brewed by the same company, namely Carlsberg Sweden. He wanted to buy a Swedish beer and ended up buying a beer owned by a Danish company. I didn't feel like bursting his bubble though so I let him have his "Swedish" beer :stuck_out_tongue: .

I know plenty of people who insist that BMC is the manliest and most American beer out there. Yea bro, this imperial stout is some real ***** stuff...

Yep. I'm also a fan of the people who say that Guinness is just too heavy and filling. I understand having different taste preferences (albeit pretty arbitrary when it comes to BMC preferences), but I don't understand being objectively wrong about something
