I believe there are more anti-craft snobs than beer snobs. The two main subsets are the "I can buy a 30-rack of ____ for what you just paid for that six-pack" guy and the "I only drink REAL beer like Coors Light/Lite/Bud Light" man. (of course 1/2 of those also fall into the ironic sub-category of "I only drink American beer like Budweiser")

My friend who works for some beer distributor just comes back with "Buying Budweiser supports my company, so I consider it an American beer/company." ... alright.

My FAVORITE friend (who strictly only drinks Bud Light) only drinks about 10oz of his bottles because the rest is "backwash".

    I need new friends.

..and the bikers stare at cowboys, who are laughing at the hippies, who are praying they get out of here alive...

Anyway, too true, and that's the folly of conflating status and identity with one's beverage of choice (no matter what we choose to drink ) .

Haha I never figured out what BMC meant exactly. I had come up with beer for mass consumption. Now I feel stupid, but sorta clever too. Haha

Ohhh this stuff just makes me laugh. BMC drinkers are far more loyal to their beer than anyone else. So many times I've been sitting at a bar and some douche looks over and says how can you drink that piss? I've never looked at any BMC drinker and said that, but it's happened to me dozens of times. I just get up and play some pool. There's a conversation I don't want to have for the 400th time.

No, you don't need new friends. Having light drinking friends makes it cheaper when buying rounds. (as long as you still get drink what you want.)

And so many times I've given those drinkers other beers on purpose. Be it B,M or C. They never know the difference but if someone's drinking it next to them, they're beneath them...even though I just gave said guy the same beer and he loves it.

I've been asked "You do realize how much Bud Light costs, right?"

I've found the same is true with Chevy owners vs. Ford owners. Brand loyalty is amazing sometimes.

(I'll take my Subaru and craft beer, thank you.)

Years ago, after a bar league softball game, a keg of High Life was served. These were diehard Bud/Busch drinkers, mind you. No one paid any attention to the brand being served outta Solo cups. Everybody sayin' "Man this is good beer"! I didn't have the heart to tell 'em it wuz Miller.

I think its more brand loyalty. And to be honest....I think people that drink B/M/C AND NOTHING ELSE simply do not care for beer. There is so much diversity and culture out there when it comes to beer (I don't think I'll be able to try them all in my lifetime unfortunately). I think they don't appreciate beer.

But on the other hand there are people that do drink B/M/C but also craft!

Yep, I work at a Bevmo here in California and you'd be amazed at how many BMC snobs there are, it actually rather hilarious to hear them talk amongst themselves. Last week I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I overheard 2 Affliction Shirt wearing Jersey Shore type ******s calling Michelob ***** beer and how it tastes like water as one of them reached down and grabbed a 12 pack of Corona. Fucking hysterical.

I live in a country full of them. I chuckle when I see some people consider Leffe or Duvel as anything remotely close to craft.

I think those people are dying out. I used to be one of them but after drinking craft its so hard to go back to BMC because that adjuncty taste becomes so off-putting.
