Sounds like your friend is on the craft beer train already. I mean seriously, how many of us started off appreciating craft with things like Guinness, Leinie's Sunset Wheat, Blue Moon, etc?Give it time man, give it time.

I'm sure youv'e had the on tap version? A lot less carbonation, and delightfull IMO. Also lower in Alcohol.

Yeah that's similar to my love of sours. I consistently get the reaction that it is not a real beer because many of them have a fruity character. They take the stance that beer shouldn't have fruity aspect and compare it to putting a orange wedge in a Blue Moon. Fucking idiots....:grimacing:

There's nothing wrong with it at all I do the same thing, my point was how can life be too short to drink a beer you consider shit but it's not too short to spend it on a computer talking about beer. I don't have a Facebook page so never.

Never ran into Duvel on tap here. Might be a foreign exclusive.

Difference is, we don't have to pay to visit this site. Imagine paying to drink shitty beer. Life is just too short to force down lousy beer, man. that's all im saying.

I plan on doing an "evil" taste test with Belgian and Belgian style american blonde's soon here. Perhaps I will be shown the error of my ways ( or just get overly drunk).

Did it ever occur to anyone that AAL beer is nothing more than a drug and the reason it is generally tasteless is to ensure that the users do not reach a point of satiety until they have consumed a lot of it? After all, if a beer has lots of character and flavor one might feel satisfied after just a few.

Yes these forums are the only online amusement in the form of social-networking I haven't cut out. They actually have added to my life and taught me a lot!

Respectfullly disagree, my friend. I like an AAL w/ my TexMex or Thai. An Imperial Stout just won't do. Furthermore, if all ya wanna do is get drunk, get yerself sum cheep Vodka.

On the plus side, if it weren't for crazy people, how would we know that we're (allegedly) normal?

For the record, I don't NEVER drink AALs, I just don't LIKE drinking them. But they're cheap and widely available, so if it's all that there is to drink, I'll deal with it.

If anything at all life's too short for two things: worrying about what other people are drinking, and not being able to sit down and enjoy a few beers with your friends no matter which brews they are.

People ask me all the time "you want a beer? it's not any of that fancy beer you drink." my response is always the same "I'll drink any beer, there are just certain beers I don't buy." they hand me a beer I drink it and I enjoy the shit out of it. I don't burst their bubble and they don't burst mine we all get along and everybody is happy.

I don't take issue with your beer preferences and neither should you with anyone else's.

This is the kind of idiocy that inevitably appears when people try to import the American "craft beer" ideology into Europe.

My neighbors and and most of my co-workers are BMC drinkers. If I am offered a bud or natty ice I always accept happily. They usually do the same old "I know it's not that fancy stuff you drink but..."

I always tell them if it's cold and wet I'll drink it. I drank beer like that a few years ago and I may have though someone was a dick if my beer wasn't good enough for them.
