I don't know if there is a thread about this or not but I have saved a bunch of six and four pack holders and was at one point thinking about using it as a bar top (as I have seen in pictures before) but now we are not going to do that. I was wondering if anyone out there has any ideas how to use / display / make art with the six / four pack holders? The only thing I could find was as a bar top.
I have them covering a wall in my workshop. I just stapled them up with the six packs butting up against each other and an occasional four pack centered where four corners meet. I was going to do something else with them but the inspiration never came so now they dress up anotherwise unused space.
I used a bunch to wallpaper the ceiling in the bar. It looks pretty cool, except you get dizzy if you look up at them for too long.
Any chance you could take a picture? The wife said about doing it as a sort of collage and framing it in an open frame or something to that nature
I recall a similar thread like this from a couple years ago where someone collected a carrier from each state (or two or three or four from some states), then cut the carrier in the shape of that state's outline and pieced them all together like puzzle pieces into a US map. You will need to use a scale size for a carrier from a Rhode Island brewery that is large enough to make the brewery's name or logo identifiable, and then use that same scale for the rest of the states. It seems to me that there was a pic of this project in that posting, and the larger states such as TX and CA used multiples of the same brewery's carrier rather than multiple breweries from that state to be able to keep a consistent graphic to better define the outline of those states. I think the project ended up being like 6' high by 8' wide for the scale size that works for Rhode Island. I've also seen threads here that were discussing the trading of carriers in an attempt to get some from every state, but I don't know if the purpose was to create the project that I noted above, or just to create a collection.
Wow. That is a pretty cool idea! That will take a ton of work but something to think about along the way!
It wouldn't be a Friday night without me lying on the my back on the floor of the bar. I'll see what I can do.
Here is what I've got so far. It's a work in progress, there is still about 20 feet of ceiling to go.
Good stuff! do think we might do something similar in a picture frame type thing or something. Plus behind the bar we will have an older fridge and the side of it will be exposed...so maybe we can put them on the side of that fridge to cover that up (It is a pretty older looking green color) as the front we have beer magnets and stuff like that...I like the pint glass shelf that looks like it is above the fridge
I've seen collages of beer carriers in a grouping of a framed pictures, and they are effective for their looks. I think more than one framed collage would be needed for the right effect.
I have a lot of EVERYTHING (hoarder mentality). I justify it by putting it on the wall and calling it decoration. I've got about 50-60 glasses, almost all from breweries/brewpubs that I've visited.
