Worst Barrel Aged Beer?

    As brewers increase their barrel aging, more and more of us are getting into it. I love 'em, whether wine barrel or whiskey barrel. However, there are some awful ones out there. Feel free to list and help a brother out.

    I'll start with Indian Wells' Whiskey Barrel Aged Amber.

    Agree with the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale comments, just an awful beer. It's like dropping a shot of bad bourbon in an MGD.

    I would also nominate Brown's Whiskey Porter. It has decent overall reviews, but that stuff goes bad quickly and I have had more bad/soured bottles than good ones. Even on tap, it's a mediocre representation of the style.

    So, if you put crap in a barrel and age it you get barrel aged crap. Crap is crap.

    Mikkeller Black (Islay Edition). Not only the worst barrel aged beer I have had, it is the worst beer I have ever had. Smoky, peaty, cloyingly sweet, and a plethora of off flavors. I couldn't even drink an ounce of it.

    Someone brought a 4pk to my birthday. Managed to finish one when he brought it, but hated it. Tried it again a couple weeks ago and had to drain pour it. Now I have 2 left... no idea what to do with them. Probably hold on to them and share them with non BAs when they come by.

    I've never experienced the apparent loser Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, but my vote goes to Left Hand BA Wake Up Dead. Watery, thin, and just nothing that you look for in a BA beer.

    Every beer I've ever had from Indian Wells instantly takes the Worst Beer Ever Award in its particular category.

    I've never had it, but I'm surprised we've got this far and no one mentioned Idiot's Drool. I've heard some things about that beer.
