Can anybody shed some light on this beer? I love Tilquin and would like to try this one, if possible.

    Availability?
    Cost?
    Distribution?
    Trades?

    Thanks in advance.

First batch (2012) with a BB date of 23/02/2022 is made with ’Prune de Namur’ and limited to 500 bottles. Brewery only.

Second batch (2013) limited to 5000 * 75cl and 10000 * 37,5cl. And was made with véritable quetsches d’Alsace. Will hit world wide distribution.

Pretty hard to trade for first batch. Most people get it as a favor from European contacts. Second batch hasn't hit the market yet.

    Again, thanks.

There have been plenty of threads on this.

A: Batch 2 will be released at Tour de Geuze this Sunday. Approximately 5,000 750ml bottles and 10,000 375ml bottles.
C: Cost was €7.5 for batch 1. I expect this to be no different.
D: Batch 1 was not distributed, or at least highly limited. Torst in NY has some, and Moeder Lambic in Brussels got a couple. If I'm to believe Pierre, no others were sold outside the brewery.
T: No idea, I traded one away to a valued partner. Guess a batch 1 could fetch something pretty though, but it might be greatly devaluated after the second batch is released in a few days. Maybe not, like with Caractère Rouge. Only time will tell.

Batch 2 will be available at Tour De Gueuze April 21 so I think it will hit distribution after that.

Edit: Dennis beats me to it. Damn you.

The fruit in batch #1 was very subtle, that was the polite way of saying that I could hardly taste it. It was still mighty tasty. I really hope this next batch is much more fruit forward.

    Yup.

Can't really say it's a lot better than the first batch. It's definitely fruitier, but the acidity seems to have gone down. I distinctly remember the sides of my tongue getting attacked with a serious twang in the first one. A unique experience and I like to go all-out on the rare occasions I have a sour. Color's beautiful, nice and dark.

How tough is this little tart going to be to track down in the U.S.? Look forward to trying it.

Had the batch 1 at torst, it was fantastic! Highlight of the trip, être has some batch 2 for sale right now and it's definitely worth it. The subtle plum fruit really play nice with the lambic blend they used. I remeber BiaB was selling them for 99 euros and after finding it at torst for $45, I was stoked and it was well worth it. Can't wait till it hit the US shelfs. Seriously though, stop talking about tilquin, they are just a wannabe lambic Geuze blended that wil never be as good as the great ones, don't buy it!
