First Timer Dark Lord Day LIF/TIF

Awesome! First timer here, coming with a buddy I go to school with. We're getting there around 9:00, but my allotment isn't until session E. Top 3 things I've wanted to try are probably King Henry (my top all-time want -- love BA barleywines), Black Tuesday (sounds incredible to me) & any Speedway variants (had the regular Speedway and loved it).

First time and maybe only time for me with a baby on the way in June. Been drinking 3 Floyd's since college a decade ago when Gumballhead was a bomber, so I figured it was time to finally do this. I'll be in Group E from 6-8PM. Pretty generous and fun idea here by the original poster. The top 3 beers I've wanted to try are a little off the beaten path. Number one is Heady Topper because I've been crazy about DIPAs for like the past year since I got my first taste of Pipeworks Ninja v Unicorn. I've had the pleasure of having Pliny on draft at RR, so I'd love to see how it compares. Other than Heady, I'd really love to try any of the Upland Lambics. I'm a fan of fruit beers, but moreso because Upland was the first craft beer that I had. Upland Wheat on draft was my college go-to. I didn't even know Upland made Lambics, let alone how sought after they were until I finally joined BA a few months back. Finally, my third beer would be The Dissident. I'm going to be honest. I just want to try this beer because I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan. I know it isn't named that because of the song, but it still makes me think of it. "Escape is never the safest plan, a dissident is here..."

 

First time at DLD here as well! I am in group E 6-8PM. Top 3 for me would have to be:

1. PtE
2. Cigar City Jai Alai
3. Vanilla Bean DL

I am newer to all of this so really anything is on my want/ISO list to have or taste.

This is great, my buddy and I are driving up from Shreveport, LA for our first Dark Lord Day. We managed to get tickets to the B session and plan on arriving early to make the most out of the day. We plan on hitting a few bottle shops along the way and hope to turn this into a Smokey and the Bandit style beer run! After all its only 900 miles there and 900 miles back! There are so many beers I'd love to try but if I had to narrow it down to 3, I think it'd be Bramble from Goose Island, Raspberry Truffle Abduction from Pipeworks, or Black Tuesday from the Bruery. Awesome LIF! First time for me and very excited. I'll be getting in line with some other NW Indiana BA's (mjmadsen21, rfraga7) early to try and get into the brewpub, and I'm group A. I'd have to say my top 3 wants at the moment have to be longshots, but Ann, Black Raspberry Lambic, and Peconic. Even if I don't get selected maybe we will run into each other and I can share some of the HF and other assorted goodies I will have with me anyway! Thanks for the chance!

 

Great LIF!!! First timer here and flying in from So Cal. Really looking forward to experiencing everything that DLD has to offer and getting the opportunity to meet up with and share great beer with a bunch of new and old BA's. I'll be meeting up with sbxx at the asscrack of dawn to get in line for Group B. Also probably a longshot but my top 3 wants at the moment are: (1) Bourbon Dark Lord, (2) Duck Duck Gooze, & (3) Cable Car Kriek. Can't wait for next weekend and will defintely be seeking you out since I will need to hand the mystery bottle for the dld single bottle bif and would love the opportunity to chat with and share a beer together. I'm in group D and will be driving in from Grand Rapids. Won't be there till about noon and will have BB Monster 29, KBS, Hardywood Chocolate Heat, BB Plead the Fifth, Coffee Abduction, and a few others I'm still waiting to come in from trades for sharing. First timer here as well, I will be in session B. My top three ones I'd like to try are any of the Lou Pepe series, BA Speedway, and Chocolate Rain.

I'll be pouring a few solid brews (BA Hi-fi Rye, Abacus, and a Cantillon or two) for those who don't win and would like a taste. Can't guarantee I'll have enough for everyone, but I'm bringing them to share so that's what they are for!

First timers coming in from Aurora, IL. Pretty cool that your doing this. There's 3 of us so I queried our group. My wife and I are Group B. We have a buddy with us in Group D.

1. Wife dreams of the day she can try Chocolate Rain (The Bruery)
2. My buddy really wants Heady Topper (The Alchemist)
3. Both of the above sound amazing. I guess my choice would be this years KBS, since I was unable to get my hands on any.
