*Bad Trader List Update* hmph

    hmph has been added to the BT list today.



    He had more than enough to make up for this. Even after a submission I take some time to contact everyone and make sure I don't make mistakes. He's had enough time.






    Here is the story.
    hmph, was involved in the 2012 NFL Best/Worst BIF.

    hmph had the Bengals. All of the losing teams were required to send (a minimum of) one container EACH to McNuts and brooklynbrews. (McNuts had the team that won the Superbowl, and brooklynbrews had the team with the worst record in the league.)

    I set the deadline for March 1st, the day after the superbowl (Feb 6th). I then extended the deadline to March 14th due to very cold weather in the midwest and northeast. On March 14th I contacted both, along with a few other late senders, and all assured me they would be sending soon. Everyone sent, except hmph

    On March 24th I contacted him, and explained I would be contacting you to submit his name to the 'bad traders list' if he did not send; or at least stay in communication with me. I set March 31st as the final deadline at this point.

    I fully understand things come up and priorities shift......but it's been said a million times, "all I asked for was a little communication". And it was only a total of 2 bottles each being sent.








    On a side note. Please play nice in these threads so that they stay up. Luckily in the last posting, they deleted everything but kept the OP and locked it up.

    Also, if I am slow to reply at times, It's only because I have many submissions to deal with. At least most of them are nothing bad. I am getting them and will be contacting you if you sent a submission.

    That's a shame. We did a trade a couple years ago; it was in progress the day that earthquake hit a couple miles from his house in Virginia. His communication was great then, even with that crazy situation. Guess things happen.

    If an earthquake didn't bother him then maybe he was simply abducted ?

    Very unfortunate.

    Thanks to oldp0rt for doing the list. The first thing I check before trading with someone, or letting someone in a BIF, is the Bad Traders List. So even tho a BAer didn't ship, and screwed another BAer out of some brew, it won't happen again until it's made right.

    Thanks oldp0rt, I know what you do is a ton of work, but I truly rely on it.

    If it's the one I'm thinking...... It was me who sent, and the guy who I sent to turned out to be a bad trader himself, or something to that effect....

    Hmph flaked in our Craziest Fantasy Football league as well. Another generous BA (libbey) covered his ass on that one also and I don't believe that was reported either.

    That depends on the one running the BIF. If it takes a long time before (a friend) fixes the problem then the BA has time to be reported. In that case, (depending on the circumstance) one should be added as a bad trader for not sending.

    Thanks for the link. That would be a red flag for me not to trade with him personally. Unless I knew for sure libbey was filling in haha.

    totally agree. the trade/BIF is set up with BAperson, NOT BAfriend. If a friend covers for a BAer who hasn't sent, he still didn't send; period. So the BAer who didn't send gets reported. Even if he is a friend, and a good guy, he didn't send; so instead of someone defending his rep....go kick your friend in the ass and get him to man up and send what is rightfully due!

    I recommend checking the bad trader list even the day OF shipping a box though. I did a trade with another user and sent my box the same day he was added to the bad trader list. Lost out on $125 worth of beer.

    Yeah you handled adding him to the list. By that point though like 2-3 people had reported him I think. I'll definitely do that in the future. Thank you very much for taking this upon yourself oldp0rt. Cheers!

    To me this is a grey area. Knowing both hmph and Libbey personally obviously I'm biased here. My thought is that Libbey knew hmph was 100% done with the trading game and BA in general, rather than have the guy who won the BIF be shorted and have hmph just seem like a total douche libbey decided to send the winner a few brews in hmph's stead.

    Yes hmph didn't send and yes by definition that means he should be on the list. But honestly at this point its irrelevant given hmph's recent involvement in craft beer. All I'll say is before whatever happened happened he was a stand up guy, as another trader has already noted a positive experience
