Holding up beautifully. What was originally an elite beer still is, if not even better.

I would say Batch 1 has peaked and might be starting to decline, but still excellent. Batch 2 OTOH was superb and while i'm not sure what more you could gain from aging it, didn't seem like it was turning, yet.

I'm going to make it a four year vertical, I suppose if batch 1 is already heading south.

Had one this weekend. Still very tasty but not nearly as good as fresher bottles, IMO.

Unless you really want to get a vertical tasting going or something like that, I'd recommend drinking it sooner rather than later.

Just did a Batch 1-3 vert this weekend at our tasting. Batch 1 was good not great. Batch 2 and 3 were beautiful.

this is seriously a drink fresh type of beer.

age one for science, but focus on consuming them over the course over the next 9 months till Eclipse comes out to carry you to next April.

It's a FW barrel-aged beer. Never had a one that was better aged than fresh.

Agree 100% with the exception of FW 15. Once the hops from the Double Jack faded out it was a much better beer.

Opened the B1 a month or two ago when I was intending to drink the B3
I had not had Parabola before, but I found B1 to be an extremely well-rounded barrel aged imperial stout. A B3 is due to be opened soon (and B4, if I can find it in MA) so I'll see if fresh is better.

I had one about a month ago and it didn't taste much different that a fresh one.

Glad to see most people think it's doing okay. Saving them up for a 5-year vertical on my 30th (if B5 has hit the East Coast by next June. Fingers crossed).

GAH! I need to find some of this. I'm sitting on a bottle of the 16th anniversary right now but just seeing pictures of Parabola has me watering at the mouth...

When does parabola hit the shelves usually? Just grabbed the Abacus (one to drink one to keep) on a recent trip to Seattle, my introductory FW beer. I hear that parabola is even better.

I just opened mine and took a few sips. Slight oxidation going on but damn, it's still stellar!
