Yeah, it was with the other Jester King beers in the fridge section.

The raspberry beer? Well, it's definitely sour. I don't think anyone will disagree with me there once you've tried it. I get some brett-y notes and a little barnyard in the nose that I find interesting, but the funk is subtle in my opinion.

You are lucky, almost grabbed that one bottle yesterday afternoon. Guess I should have grabbed it!

Didn't see any in my limited Austin trip, but there WAS one left in Elgin last week. Just for anyone who is close or can make the trip.

EDIT: There were two and I bought one, so, in theory, there's one left

Jester King Censored... I smell a cease and desist letter from a Lagunitas lawyer winging its way to Texas.

Started my JK experience with Boxer's Revenge. Very nice, which surprised me after a friend said it may be too sour. Iono, guess I can only put so much weight in someone's opinion.

Which, ironically, leads me to this question - If you were going to introduce someone to JK, what would you have them try? Assume this person is open to trying any of the beers offered.

"Retail licensee" refers to an entity holding a TABC license or permit at the retail (as opposed to production or wholesale) tier. This includes bars, licensed restaurants, package stores, etc... Buddha's Brew does not hold a TABC license or permit, so this wasn't an issue with them. Franklins Smoked Porter was probably generic enough to slip by.

Kegs do require label approval, but since customers aren't really relying on the keg labels as a source of info, they can be pretty generic.

    Cheers,
    Ron

As far as we're concerned, the beer is still called Salt Lick. It's still legal to call it Salt Lick in 49 states and the rest of the free world. We have to censor it in Texas only, so any use of a censored bar is merely functional.

You should use electrical tape on the bottles for that purpose. That way we can just peel it off. :grinning:

I made a pilgrimage out to Bee Cave today, and was able to get RU-55 and both of the Das. The Whole Foods there still has tons of them (along with some other goodies long gone here). Only thing they didnt have that I was hoping for was more Boxers, but oh well. In case anyone is looking!

Yeah, I thought I had plenty of time on it, and then there really seemed to be a rush, and it was nowhere to be found. Oh well.
