Not in Philly, but Norms in Northern VA got some in today.

 

Also at Whole Foods Reston as well.

 

Love this beer. Better than KBS in my book.

Woahhh better than KBS? Haven't had this batch but the last one was lacking compared to a year ago. Still awesome just not as Bourbon forward.

 

Bella Vista Beverage (Center City Philly) had two cases this afternoon. I picked up one, so there is one left as of 1pm today. If you aren't looking for a case, I would imagine Hawethornes across the street has it too, albeit at a much higher cost per bottle.

 

If you or whoever is lucky enough to get the other case wants to split it, I'm right outside of Philly and definitely interested.

 

Any place in DC proper have this?

 

I was lucky enough to get 2 of these the day after it was bottled. A gentleman that works with me brought them to me as his wife manages Alewerks. Ironically enough, I have not seen any on the shelves and the brewery is 10 minutes up the road from me.

 

U Street Wine and Beer had it when I was there on Saturday. $10.99 (same price I paid at Norm's in NOVA).

 

KBS is sort of a vicious circle of hype and exclusivity that feeds back on itself. I'm not saying it's a bad beer at all... KBS is great. People just can't find it, so they want it more, so when they do find it, they buy it all and/or talk it up, then other people can't find it, and want it more, etc. etc. etc.

I'm thankful every day, that Alewerks' brews have stayed under the radar for so long.

That said, they need to bring back the Rapadou Porter with a quickness. I finished my last bottle of it about 6 months ago.

 

Both Bitter Valentine and Cafe Royale have been replenished on BV's floor. I imagine you'll see em popping up at the philly bars soon.

 

TW in Mclean had Cafe Royale on the shelves today. Supposedly the TW in Fairfax will get it tomorrow.

 

WF Vienna had it as of yesterday.

 

Cafe Royale is a good beer, probably the best thing that Williamsburg Alewerks brews, but is it better than KBS? No way! People love to bash KBS though, so I'm not surprised this comparison was made.
