Why don't you write a review and then post a link, so we can all see what you mean in more specific terms? That would be the constructive way to go about these fucking threads.

Sorry, man. Im not good at doing reviews. I remember it being very hoppy last year and it doesnt seem as hoppy now. I never had a lager that was as hoppy as last years one. I can still taste hops but they seem more subdued.

I don't remember it being very hoppy at all. I also don't remember finding it to be very memorable. I'll probably grab a sixer at some point, just to try it again.

I remember not caring for it much last year but I don't think I remember it being hoppy either. I picked up two bottles to retry, I'll reply to the thread when I do!

Fair enough . . . I'm just sick of open-ended comparison threads. I've had it in years past, but I don't recall picking it up last year. Is it possible that your palate has just opened up to new levels of hoppiness in the past year, and because of that it seems less hoppy relative to what you remember?

It's definitely better than next year's.

SN hops up all their beers. Thats common knowledge. Now most lagers really arent that "hoppy" of course but to me SN Summerfest stood out from the pack because it was a lager that WAS hoppy. Now this years edition just doesnt feel the same.

As I recall, it started with a spicy hoppiness that blended into some good, grainy malts, but it's nothing I would have labeled as "hoppy." Pilsner is a hoppy style, but nowhere near the likes of an APA.

I'm sure I'll grab some this year when I see it, but I have no doubt it will be as good as I recall.

It's a fine beer, and always pretty consistent.

I don't "get" these kind of threads.

I'm sure Sierra Nevada Bill will have something to say to that, but the Summerfest and Keller Weiss are probably their least hoppy beers.

This thread isn't as good as the last "It's not as good as last year's" thread.

Maybe a case of Lupulin Threshold Shift, OP?

P.S. As a "Boring Lager" - lover, I look forward to this one every year. It's definitely hoppier than most of my regular fridge fodder.

Tastes the same as last year to me. I enjoy the graininess to it.

Yeah. That's why I only drink next year's versions of beer.

I am a huge fan of Pilsners but Summerfest, while enjoyable, was never at the top of my list. I am definitely looking forward to having it again this year, though!

I had a few bottles last night and to me it was a little better than before and it didn't seem to be as hoppy/dry as it used to be. My palate has changed a lot over the last year, though, so it could be me vs. the beer. It's still not my favorite Pilsner, but a solid choice for sure!
