I really enjoy the Estate Homegrown Ale, Northern and Southern Hemisphere, and Celebration. SN does an all around great job!

    Cheers everyone:slight_smile:

I've got a torpedo waiting for me in the fridge. I still remember my first sip....I bought a 6er hearing nothing but great things. I cracked open that first one and boom, my mouth discovered a whole new flavor. Torpedo was not only my first Sierra Nevada experience but also my first IPA. I love Torpedo

SNPA is a summer go to for me, as well as something I'll buy to share with the uninitiated. Torpedo is the best IPA value out there, in my humble opinion. Their stout may be the best non-imperial stout I've ever tasted. Bigfoot is great, though I find that I like it a lot more with some age. Narwhal is a bit underwhelming to me, though I still enjoy it quite a bit. Super looking forward to cracking open my first BA Bigfoot next weekend with some good people at DLD.

Also...Sierra Nevada was a brewery I slept on for a ridiculously long time. I would always pass them up because they seemed so plain, but these days I really appreciate what they do, and I'll be damned if Hoptimum isn't the coolest label ever made.

Like just about every SN beer I've tried. It's crazy how good they are while being such a big brewery. Their mustards rock too.

Without a doubt, Sierra Nevada is the best brewery in the country. As I drink my last Celebration Ale, I would like any one to tell me a bad beer that they brewed. They consistently brew the best seasonal and year round beers in the country. What brewery can compare to this year round selection:
    SN Pale Ale
    Torpedo
    Porter
    Stout
    Seasonals:
    Celebration Ale
    Bigfoot
    Hoptimum
    Southern Hemisphere Harvest
    Chico Estate Harvest
    Beer Camp Series
    Northern Hemisphere Harvest
    Narwahl

    Cheers

I liked one of their collaboration beers. And Ovila with Sugarplums was tasty.

I love everything Sierra does, but thier 30th anniversary Black Barleywine, AKA Jack & Ken's ale absolutely blew my mind. I ran into Brewmaster Steve Dresler at the GABF last year and begged him to brew it again, and he told me he was trying to get a mixed 12 pack of retired SN beers brewed and that it was one of the beers he would like in there.

I've heard people crap on Sierra for a whole host of reasons between being too big to brewing "intro beers" but Sierra consistently brews elite examples of whatever style they choose, and thier beers can be had in places you wouldn't expect. This is all beside the fact that they brew the pale ale to which all other pale ales are measured, and that they are a true pioneer in the brewing world.

    TLDR?: 30th Anniv Jack & Ken's Ale

Ruthless Rye is my favorite rye beer, and one of my favorite ipa's. Second would have to be their Estate ipa. Absolutely love it. I have to admit that these constantly battle for first place.

    I can't think of a Sierra Nevada brew that I don't love!
Torpedo is my go to but I always want multiple Hoptimums...Bigfoot, Narwhal, Celebration, Ruthless Rye, Southern / Northern Hemisphere, SNPA, stout, porter...any and all. thanks SN, Cheers ~

Not sure I've heard that argument but I say if they can afford to do it, then by all means. I don't look at it as undercutting, I think it helps keep other companies honest (though I see the opposing argument here). Tough to jack up prices too high when you've got such affordable competition. I never let a buck or two get in the way of buying what I'm in the mood for anyway.

Jeez, we just did this for Dogfish a week ago...

Outstanding Beers: Narwhal, SN Stout, Hoptimum, Celebration
Great Beers: SN Pale. Torpedo, Bigfoot, Ruthless Rye, The Hemisphere IPAs
    Good Beers: Kellerweiss, SN Porter
    Bad Beers: Tumbler, Summerfest, Glissade

The big difference between this and the Dogfish one was I was able to change the description of the lowest category from "Godawful" to just "Bad."

I'm very excited SN is building an east coast brewery. It will be so nice to have an even fresher product (not that i've ever had a quality control issue). Just sayin'

Too much to say in praise of SN, just leave it that I can still taste that first bottle of Pale Ale in the late 80's and knew right then that the future of American beer was gonna be really really good from that point forward. Made me want to brew my own, and all that has come since then is partly as a result of that delicious beer. BTW it is still a favorite of mine, and always will be. Thanks Ken!!!!!

Edit: and how great is it that they have such a strong presence here on BA? sierranevadabill has got to be the coolest and most helpful brewery member on this site!

If Sierra Nevada only brewed SNPA ,it would still be one of the 5 best brewery's in the world.
