My cellar is split in two right now, some with my wife in our place in Calgary, some with me that I've built up since moving to Hamilton. Probably about 300 bottles total. I was trying to drink down my cellar in Calgary before I moved, but every time I go back, I take advantage of Alberta's retail system and add another case. Plus, I'm in on a bunch of private orders in Ontario/Quebec right now that will cause my total to jump shortly. Stupid obsessive compulsive beer habit

I must have around 150 bottles of beer in the cellar....and about 350 bottles of wine! Since I almost only drink hoppy pilsners (dunham's pils released yesterday? Awesome stuff!), IPAs, and gueuze, I'm trying to drink fresh as much as possible, but I just end up buying too much anyway... We also have a private import system in quebec, but you must buy by the case. Last summer, I ended up receiving 5x24bottles cases of IPA in the same week. It's kind of annoying, and they were ordered on a period of maybe 2-3 months. At least the geuzes and assimilated can wait without problem so getting them by the case ends up being great, since the prices are usually quite decent.

Random question, I just took a look at my credit card bill and there's a fedex entry. Is it possible that shipping a box from montreal to BC cost me only about 10$? It's only my second time shipping beer. I was thinking it'd be more around 30$, no?

No chance, unless they screwed up. It costs me around $15 to ship a box to korguy123 in Barrie (just over an hour away), and any time I have shipped to western Canada it typically costs me $35+

Must be the pickup fees if you asked for them to pick up your box...

Well my box is ready, just needs some packing adjustments...

If my math is right this one has 337 ounces in it! Holy sh*t, this is the biggest box I have ever put together...

Just sealed it up and the mL count is (I'm pretty sure) 9964 mL :grimacing: & I found a piece of swag to fit in there too... :grinning:

Forgot to take a picture though, as I have only been in 2 BIFs and one of them I had a shitty target that took a month to send and didn't even post a list of stuff...

We build a cold room specifically for beer in our house (also store pressure canning goods and root veggies) and two other people store their beer in there too...but we have way too much...I'd guess over 1000 bottles easily but not sure how much total. That being said it is slowly being drunk down and we're making an effort to drink the stuff that shouldn't be aging too long. But its tough when there is so much good beer out there.

Just took a quick scan of the list and it looks like 15 of the 30 boxes have landed so far. This should be a very busy week!

Holy sh*t Tuesday's low is horrific. I was going to put my beer in the local postal outlet Monday after 5:00 so it would be processed early Tuesday and head away, but I can't risk a package sitting at -9 in a non-temeprature controlled truck...

    FML.

Looks like my target will be lucky to have his package in the mail before Thursday, then a 6 day wait (Canada Post was $10 cheaper than Fed Ex Ground this time!)

As for hints: Another famous person from this location was a Prime Minister. That should narrow the list down a bit. That said 22 PMs and some can viewed as from more than 1 location (i.e. Harper could be from Calgary, Toronto or Montréal).

Any lucky targets in Portage la Prairie? Yeah, I'm looking at you Arthur Meighen! (I'd drive the box over, it'd be cheaper that way!)

Unless the 10-day turns for the better, I'm thinking that I probably won't ship until the 29th (assuming it's finally warm enough!). That is, I've been watching the 10-day for like 2-3 weeks now and it always gets adjusted downwards as you get closer to a given day. Thur/Fri's temps are therefore probably optimistic (and based on the seasonal average)...

Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

I hear you but I'm remaining as optimistic as a depressive dude can be :flushed: Seriously in all of April has our daily high hit the seasonal high yet?
