I prefer Two Brothers Side Kick, but All Day is great too

And it's the best 87 rated beer I've had. Going to rate that up right now.

In a word - yes. Unbelievable flavor for such a low ABV. Had it for the first time this year and fell in love

Honestly I could really pass on All Day. Far from my favorite candidate for a winning session beer.

I've had a number of super-hopped, relatively low ABV "session" IPAs, including All Day, and none of them particularly stand out. With that said, this style is starting to grow on me. I really love the aroma and the fact that I can drink of number of these in an evening without falling on my face.

I like it, but I'm waiting for DayTime to come out this summer. I prefer Lagunitas DayTime to all the other session IPA's I've had thus far.

My vote goes to Surly Bitter Brewer, though All Day is still pretty damn good.

No, overly bittered. Not enough hop flavor. Rather have a choppy APA around the same abv.

For a low-ABV brew, All Day hits the spot. Ever since it appeared in MN for the first time about a month ago, I've bought a bunch. Thus being said, I will go in the direction of Surly Bitter Brewer once it is released. I can't get enough of that stuff!

Here we go again-it ain't a session beer , it's a beer you might like to drink a bit of.
Session beer is about the design , not the use.Just like a carving knife isn't just a knife you carve with, it's one specifically designed for the task.A racing car isn't an ordinary car you race another in, it's a car built specifically for purpose.A baseball cap is a specific sort of headgear , not just any hat you play baseball in. And all these examples retain their identity even when not used for their intended purpose. So you don't need to drink a lot of session beer , that's just what it is.
Anything designed for purpose will have certain characteristics. For a session beer this is low-and I mean low-ABV.It's generally accepted that at 4% ABV the dehydrating effect of the alcohol content just balances the hydration of the water content. 4% ABV makes an ideal cutoff point , in fact under 4% is a general industry standard in the UK where a typical pub visit is several hours.

I'm looking for one actually as spring hits and summer comes. I hear All Day and Bitter American are good. Any other suggestions?

I don't particularly care for All Day. In a similar style, I much prefer Bitter American.

Can I subscribe to your list of analogies for US drinkers blurred understanding of what a session beer is?

I like Founders All Day IPA. I like the Lagunitas Daytime, too, as well as such analogs as Otter Creek Hop Session Ale and Uinta Wyld pale ale, but my favorite hop-forward low-ABV brew is Notch Brewing's new Left of the Dial IPA. It's a bit above a session ABV, strictly speaking, at 4.3%, but I'm finding it somewhat more flavorful and fuller-bodied than the others.

Regardless, I'm stoked to see this proliferation of hoppy brews that are modest in alcohol.
